Just wonder if anyone has any ideas on how I can keep the purple sword and make the overall mini look less conspicuous with it....
Maybe some offsetting purple somewhere else.

you are already using about four colors right now (purple, green , red and white). I\'d suggest to drop down one color or two, and replace them with a variation of one of the colors left.

I agree, it\'s a *bit* too garish. Nice blending on the shield, though. One thing that gives me pause is the sword: Nice shade of purple, but it makes me wonder \"why\" it\'s purple. I think it would be more telling if it was adorned with runes, stars, or crackling energy, something like that.

Personally, I dont think the purple is too eye catching or garish, in and of itself. If you want to keep the purple, but tone it down a bit, I\'d say reconsider the yellow base of the blade. Although its nicely done, and yellow to purple isnt an easy transition, I think that is what makes the purple stand out so much, is that its leaping up from that highly contrasting base. Maybe wash over it, and have a dark purple/maroon base to start the progression up into the speckled blue?
Or what ever color reeally; but thats my take- that its stand out ish by assistance of the yellow. nice figure overall though.
