double entendres for books

so i was looking at some students book covers today and realized many of them could be construed differently with their titles.

one in particular always make me chuckle.

BFG by: Roald Dahl.

hehe. so whats the name of a book that makes you laugh a bit when you see it?

Hmm...can't think of anything like that, but back when I had my first real job, I worked at a Cigar Store/Magazine shop. Well, they had an extensive 'porn' collection for sale as well.

I'd have to straighten the mags and books occasionally, and the name of a sex novel was "Mom and Me".

At this point in my porn-peddling career, I was a bit jaded, because all I could think was that gramatically, it should be "Mom and I".

i still remember one year my friends took a picture of two books laying next to each other. one on top of the other and i had to turn around to look at it when i realized what it said.

I remember back in the early 80's there was a over the counter weight loss pill called Aids - as in 'aids in weight loss'. It was released about a year before the AIDS epidemic. I know it's not a book but it was still a drag of a name for a product.

It depends on if you and your mother are the subject (My Mom and I went to the store) or the object/predicate (The dirty magazine is about my Mom and me) of the sentence. It's all about where you are in relation to the verb.

Back on topic, Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon bought me a ton of crap from people who thought I was reading a book about dark magic...and the black cover with weird symbols didn't help my cause. :eyeroll:

Ah, yes. The 'Book of Strange Names'. Such as Rutger Gönåker.

yeah that's what i was thinking of the but the complexity that evil tend points out made me question it in the first place
