How do all.

Here\'s the first character from my new Dwarf army.

http://www.coolminiornot.com/117491

I\'m quite happy with it but there are a few bits that are not too good. For me the hair is a bit flat and the silver, specifically on the chain seems a bit dull. But, hey ho, can\'t do your best model every time, can you.

Anyway, feedback is, as ever, extremely appreciated.

Cheers,

Dom

Voted.

I like the scars quite a bit. Can you share how you did that. The only thing...are they old scars or fresh scars?

I want to do a figure with really OtT battle wounds, but I want old scars in there as well, and I am looking for a way to do so.

Those axes cost 2 quid each from GW mail order! Criminal!
No name as yet. The army is in it\'s infancy but i\'d be happy to accept suggestions!

The technique i use is to make a very thin wash of half Red Gore and half Magenta Ink. Paint this on in a load of light layers (i think these were about 5) to give a smooth gradation (sp?) Then add a touch of black to the mix and paint a fine line to represent the wound in the middle of the redened area.
As for the age of the wounds, this caused some debate on another forum i post on culminating in a med student telling me they looked \"like a deep wound in the first stage of healing (some knitting and coagulation?!?) with slight infection!\" ??? So there you go! :]

Cool, hope that helps. I\'ve got a Thane to post that will hopefully be finished at the weekend so keep your eyes peeled for that one!

Thanks once again for the comments and vote.

Keep smilin\'

Dom
