Dreadlord & darkriders

Hi Everyone. Scott finally convinced me to post of some minis here. Was a bit scared to bite the bullet

I\'d really like to improve my painting, so C&C is more than welcome. Metallics and smooth transitions are probably my biggest hangups, from what I can see myself.

Thanks in advance
Carson

Glad to see you finally post here amigo. I like the gemstones. I don\'t really have too much extra to add, hopefully you get some good C&C. Also you should put a link in to your voting page for the pictures maybe.

The snow on the Dreadlord looks awesome.

The Dark Rider is a cool conversion, I would like to see some different angles of it though. Exactly what parts did you use on him? I don\'t recognize the horse.

I think there\'s some room to improve the painting, like placement of hilights and stuff, but you have a really solid grasp on the basics and your color choice is spot on.

Be sure to post more pics of your army, they are looking good!

I really like the colour of your dreadlords armour, its a refreshing change from the usual and really contrasts well with the purple.

Btw what are you using for your snow?

Thanks Guys. So far I\'m really impressed by the new Dark Elves plastics. For the Dark rider I used the new Corsair sprue, after some cutting and sculpting it mounted up fairly nice. The mount is from the new High Elves chariot sprue.

Highlighting with a light source in mind is another technique that I havn\'t been able to grasp yet.....looking for help.

The snow is woodland scenics snow mixed with pva.

The thing that\'s letting these down the most is the photos!

Snow looks great and I like the choice of colours. Be nice to see some larger, clearer pics.
