Can you help me get a job teaching English in Japan?

2) My own gym geared for bodybuilders, power lifters and strength athletes. i.e. no muppets on phones, spandex clad time wasters, masses of cardio equipment, etc (+ a supplement shop!)

I hate people that talk on their cell phones at the gym! One would think that people would exercise proper mannerisms when using their phones but I guess most people are too idiotic to realize when using a phone is inappropriate.

Short answer: no, but I am very good friends with the recruiter here. Right now they\'re only hiring within Japan (which is lame since people that are here already have jobs). If you\'re serious though I can ask him when they\'re hiring from outside Japan. They can do interviews via webcam using Skype or MSN. Obviously I can put in a good word too!. Right now you\'d have to be prepared to work in less desirable locations (i.e. not Tokyo or Osaka) since conditions are quite bad here at the moment (like everywhere else in the world). For Brits and Americans though, the Yen is extremely strong making sending money home a good choice!

Cell phones are banned in my gym thankfully.. but you still get idiots doing bicep curls in a squat rack, people doing 3/4 reps and doing 10+ sets etc... drives me insane.

I\'ve gotten in the habit of going to the gym at night (sleeping during the day, best way to beat the desert heat here), much less people there at 11pm and a few less idiots (though still some)

There is this one guy who is always in there sitting on a bench, doing dumbell curls in one hand while talking on his cell phone in the other. Then he\'d switch hands. What could be so important?

My favorite is when people don\'t use clamps on the bars, and then all the weights slide off... lol

@Arma: Definitely let me know when they are hiring outside Japan. I have been considering teaching English in Japan for a while.

@Matt: I used to go to the gym at night until my car was broken into. There are all types of crack head bastards living in Southern California that want nothing more than to vandalize your personal belongings and steal your warhammer!

isnt it true that around 7am is peak time for toilets?

We get peaks in reported problems based around that time as people wake up and realise they have problems, andthe treatment works certainly do have peak flows at those times :D There are pen stocks, gates really, along the way into treatment works to control the flow lol

Awesome music laurence! How do you get started with that stuff? I\'m all self taught on guitar, love playing blues among other things. I\'ve just never been able to get anything together (finding other people locally to jam with, etc). What would you recommend that I do to try and get the ball rolling?

-Matt

Thanks Matt. I\'m obviously no Eric Clapton, John Mayer or Derek Trucks, but I just love to play blues guitar and have for a long time!

To get the ball rolling, I\'d get involved with your local blues society. In my experience every town has one. There\'s even the Taipei Blues Society! Go along to the weekly jam sessions (if they have one) and get out to support your local blues/rock bands. This way you can jam regularly, listen to what the locals are playing and talk to musos who are playing in the bands. Over time you\'ll be part of the scene, and generally a band will emerge with you playing in it.

Also remember to listen to all of the great blues albums and play along with them. BB King is a great place to start!

Best of success with it mate!

Chris
