Congratulations. That\'s good news.
It\'s now 32 years since I passed mine. lol

I\'ll give you the advice that my dad gave me;
\"Remember all other road users are idiots, you never know what they are going to do next, so plan accordingly.\"

Cheers Ritual, DR!

DR - I\'ll say that your father\'s word are very wise. I use the same tactics on the bicycle for sure.

Ritual - I never bothered to learn till now. I won\'t say that it\'s changed my life, but it\'s another string to the bow innit!

I practiced driving with my father when I was 18-19 years old. I was a pretty good driver, I think. But, when I got to the point where I had to take some professional lessons and start preparing for the tests I was just about to start university. So, I focused on that instead, and I never got around to the drivers\' license again.

Well they held true for him he\'s been driving 50+ years and only had one accident. (And that was the year I passed my test as well.)

Congrats Rev, a whole area of freedom away from rubbish public transprt across the country has now opened up for you :D

I was 30 when I passed my test, before that I always used the train or cycled. Looking back now I wonder why I left learning to drive until so late.

Its not just the drink drive issue, don\'t use the phone when driving either unless you are on hands free...

Congratulations :beer:

You\'ve beaten me by a couple of years & I have no plans to learn yet! Happy enough muddling along on Public Transport for now. Did realise when visiting family in Pennsylvania, West Virginia & Ohio though that if I ever want to muck about in the States on my own I\'ll need to learn. There were barely any pavements (sidewalks) to walk anywhere let alone buses! I had to climb through a ditch & barb wire fence to get from one big box store to another as despite being neighbours the only provided solution to visit both was to drive from one carpark to the next! Although driving (being driven!) for 3 days in the same direction was very odd, the place provides a very different sense of scale!
