Here is my entry for Nathan\'s (Frustrated Father) Total Testosterone competition. I love this sculpt and it was very rewarding to paint thanks to it\'s finely detailed armour (I\'ve aquired a rather masochistic taste for filigree... :D) and it\'s incredibly well sculpted muscles. The huge axe was a perfect canvas for some NMM experiments.

Obscenely good, as always Ritual. :D

The base is simple and very neat, but highly effective. The coloring manages to be both subdued and dynamic due to the wonderful attention you\'ve paid to the texturing and amazing blending work on both the NMM and the skin. I mean, just the figure itself WITHOUT his weapon would\'ve probably still earned a 10 in my book...it just looks that good, IMO.

You make me sick with envy. :D Amazing work man!

Whoa, very well painted. The NMM is truly great. You have very earthy palette, which fits this kind of figures well. Its a 10 from me.

Would you be so kind to advice me on the NMM colors. On axe or armor, you decide.

The great thing about your work Anders, is that it is completely indentifiable as yours. Your style is unique and incredible.

Thanks everyone! I\'m still not used to my painting being recognised. Some of the comments I got in the voting named me by first name and someone even used \'ritual\' in a pun! lol

@Rhode
On the axe I used VMC Basalt Grey as base coat. I then wet-blended Beige Brown into it for the oxidation effect. The deepest recesses was washed with a mix of Beige Brown and German Cam. Black Brown. Highlighting was done by mixing more and more Pale Greyblue into the base coat. Then Pale Greyblue on its own followed by white. I then layered some Azure onto some of the areas. That\'s the blue/violet areas you can see in the pics.

The armour was painted with Germ. WWII Luftwaffe Blue as base coat. This is quite dark, so no shading is necessary. I then built up highlights by adding more and more Pale Greyblue, leaving the base coat only in the deepest recesses. As with the axe I finished with pure Pale Greyblue followed by white. On some of the more shaded areas I layered on some Dark Blue Grey and then some Dark Sea Blue in the deepes recesses.

Yes.. I can always recognize your style, and I love it :D

Funny thing.. I was looking for that mini in your avatar, I thought you had painted a new one but I couldn\'t find it.. only found Wandyr, now I see what\'s in his crotchal region lol

But this mini is fantastic ! Nothing more to say ! :)

Off to vote..

What everyone else said....

The best thing about your work is the fact that it\'s instantly recognisable. There aren\'t many people\'s work you can say that about.

mmm.. beautiful! :) The NMM experiment on the axe worked very well. Comparable to Theirry Hussers stuff almost! :) The pictures aren\'t great.. especially the backside suffers from shadows. But the painting is really great and as other\'s mentioned your style is instantly recognizable!

I should\'ve known that was you, Jim!! lol It made me laugh....

Thanks for all comments and votes, everybody! Much appreciated! :)

Fantastic bit of work and personally one of my favorites of the show.

As I was compiling the votes and comments I kept coming across people saying \'Anders .. Ritual\' and having a good laugh at it.

Sadly though, my oldest daughter saw this one when it was submitted and said \'Ooooooh\' and stood there for five minutes making me scroll up and down and then turned and point blank asked me \'why don\'t you paint like this?\'.

Gee .. thanks Anders, you\'ve completely ruined her for me. Come and pick her up - she\'s yours now.

:D
