Hi all, here with Dub, being painted as an NPC for a dnd game. Here he is with the flesh worked on a bit. Done with red liner for shadows, ambergold for highlights, and a greyish basecoat. Comments?

skin does look great, so far i see nothing to criticise, but some bigger picture / clother to the model would be good

any idea how you want to continue ?

Thanks for the reply Farin. I\'m not sure how I want to proceed. I know that as a rogue he should have mostly muted colors, like greys, blacks, and browns. I\'ll probably end up going with silver for the metal bits, and maybe give him red hair for a nice spot of contrast. And I will get bigger pics, thanks for telling me. Update in a bit.

you´re welcome

muted colors are a good idea for a rogue. My idea would be to combine it with colors that are complementary to the skincolor: the skin is gold / red , so maybe muted, desaturated blue or better blue/grey for some of the clothes. Or maybe redbrown if you want the mini to have a warm atmosphere

also maybe keeping the cape dark would be nice , so the skincolor would stand out more (also a dark cape would make sense backgroundwise )

anyway good luck

Okay, I agree with all that. I will probably do a warm grey cloak, but still thinking of colors. His main body I\'m still deliberating about.

Update, with closer pics. Hair worked on a bit.

Basecoat of 85:15 RMS rainy grey:pine green.

I\'m going to do a cooler basecoat, cooler shadows, and warmer highlights, probably again with amber gold.

Played around with the cloak, the following is a rough outline as it stands so far. Probably the last update tonight, but please please comment. Inspiration for the cloak is drawn from lots of wappellious\'s works, as he\'s a master of this type of coloring. Again, I tried to get close pics.

Nice progress. I think the amber highlights on his cloak make it look a bit like he\'s got his back to a big fire tho. Maybe a glaze would smooth out the layers there and make it all blend better? I painted this figure too (I found him a lot of fun) and I always like to see other people\'s interpretations. :)
