Dumb comment of the week. *warning rant*

yeh. but your not actually being violent in a game are you?
mostly it\'s putting minis out in a special way, rolling dice, then putting your minis back into your carry case cos you didn\'t put them out in the right way!

plenty of games don\'t have violence. chess, go, twister. well mayby implied violence. mayby chess would be more popular with queens carrying railguns (look out priscilla! )

i don\'t see why miniature games should automatically be violence orientated. is it because it is a visual medium lending itself to daydream/imagination.

i shall ponder some more.

There I go, passing serious comment and intellectualising the whole thing only to be overlooked in favour of fluffy bunnies loving one another into submission.

I dunno, what can you do?

According to the movie \"One Crazy Summer\", you pull out a submachine gun and blow the bunnies away -

Er, hmmm.

I find that being politically correct is farcical when it comes to historical modelling. For example, I recently (well several years ago now) purchased some WWII German aircraft kits to paint and build. Naturally, when complete, I began putting decals on and quickly deduced that there was something far more sinister happening than just the fact that the company totally forgot to add swastikas for the tails of the planes. Imagine my horror when I went to my hobby store and the fellow said he could possibly special order a sheet of them in for me (remotely possibly) but all of the european companies no longer use them... I see nothing wrong with the iconography. It is how one uses the iconography that is the problem.

For me, building german aircraft from WWII is a great passion (though I am far from awesome at it) and I do want them to look authentic. As far as I am concerned, and in this particular situation, the bleeding hearts can take right off!!!

My sentiments exactly!! This is not being PC, this is Big Brother trying to re-write history.:flame:

or you could take a picture hang it in a musium and call it art.

I always hate to get back on topic and ruin all this lovely \'bunnies doing it\' fun.

My personal favorite stupid quote that has been brought to my attention would be one that was on a wolfen where some genius said that \'It doesn\'t look very realistic\'.

This site should keep you well amused then...

This site is rife with that kind of wisdom. Sometmes after reading through the comments I have to go and slap myself to make sure I am not asleep and dreaming (nightmaring?)

There are comments on Wolfen saying that their noses are \'wrong\'. Some bright spark even challenges that fact that female wolfen have two breasts rather than the ten or so a dog would normally have. One can only presume his local newsagent is a Wolfen and he has been able to ask?

Its worse than that - for years now, in Germany it has been illegal to sell anything with the Nazi markings on it - and guess where most of those kits you are building are made?

I didn\'t mean to imply I was looking for Bunny armies, although I know someone who has a Bunny marine chapter (different kind of bunnies if you catch my drift). I just think it would be nice to have a race that didn\'t believe that mass exterminations of it\'s own members was a good thing. I don\'t know enough about the Tau to comment on them but if they are as presented here it may be worth investigating.

\"Actually if you wanna see a game that is not has dark, just play WHFB with nice human who do nothing but defend their homeland. Or nice spiritual elfs. \"

And that is why I play WFB more than 40k
But I\'m hearing that they are going to turn my Brettonians into peasant killers. And while more accurate for the time span projected it does turn the brave honorable knights into thugs with money.

That\'s really sad to hear. If that\'s the way things are going why don\'t we just ignore the holocaust as well?! I knew it was illegal to sell Third Reich militaria etc in many European countries, but to ban the use of certain decals in plastic kits is just insane. The world is going mad! What\'s wrong with historic accuracy. Someone somewhere seems to have that confused with fluffy notions of political correctness and guilt. I bet they\'re the same people who want Britain to apologise for the slave trade!

That game with the fluffy bunnies is certainly looking more and more tempting to me now.

point is that you can\'t make something dissapear when you ignore it...I just think that the whole political correctness thing is silly, if you paint a SS officer and not use the iconography, why are you doing it in the first place? Not because you want a \'historical piece!
