Dungeons and Dragons: The Tool of Satan?

hehe my priest played a TON role playing games back when he was younger. In fact just last sunday he was telling me about the his favorite \'cults\' that he was in, in the game.
Obviously not all rpg\'s are bad, since he has got to be one of the most firm christians i know, and he enjoys them.

I think that with rpg\'s, and many other things, the internet, music, etc, it really all boils down to what sort of person you are. If you have a personality that inclines you toward violence then yes, maybe it will take you close to the violent act. But if your a good person it wont have any negative side effects on you. It will just be a game that you play, and infact it could actualy have positive effects if it is drawing you and your friends closer together as you play.

But if we weren\'t distracting ourselves with our toy soldiers, we\'d be dabbling in politics, invading Poland, splitting the atom and generally altering the course of history.

At least that\'s what I tell myself:D

Exactly- what safer way than to vent psychotic fantasies- better than video games. The blood\'s all in your head, muhahahahahha:]

Parents, and the population in general, need a scapegoat, because they do not want to blame themselves for \'little Johnnys\' strange behaviour. If parents \'parented\' better, \'little Johnny\' wouldn\'t be playing with dad\'s gun (or whatever other tool of self/mass destruction).

And besides, EVERYONE knows it\'s posting to forums that makes one a sociopath... lol

I\'ve never understood the attitude that you have to blame someone or something for a suicide. It\'s usually caused by depression, which is an illness. Do you blame your parents\' bad parenting skills because you have diabetes?

Okay, so maybe some people would do that. :rolleyes:

That\'s the great thing about America, anybody can join the club. From the first day you\'ve got those naturalization papers, you\'re 100% bona fide.

Here i n Denmark I\'ll always be American...not because I don\'t want to be Danish (I\'ll keep my American citizenship, thanks) but because it\'s impossible. If ya ain\'t born here, forget it. Even if you are born here, but not of ethnic Northern European stock, you\'ll always be stamped as something other than Danish.

The children of parents who immigrated from the Middle East are called \"2. generation immigrants\"...even though lots of these young people were born here and lived their entire lives here.

Being Danish is an exclusive club.
