DVD regions

Can i get a NTSC region 1 dvd to work on either my Dell Dimesion c521 PC or our Sony dvd player?

The simple answer is they might already. Most PC-based DVD players in our part of the world seem to be set to our region and I thought this was the norm but a friend has a DVD drive in his Dell desktop (he\'s in the US) that\'ll play any region\'s disks.

If you try to play a film and the PC prompts you that you\'ll need to reset the region (and lists the number of resets you have left) you can use DVD Region Free to get around this.

For your Sony, no way to know for sure unless you put in a Region 1 disk and try it! If it doesn\'t work there may be a \'crack\' (unlocking procedure) or a firmware upgrade that\'ll make it Region 0; lots of DVD players have these.
