Dwarf color schemes

I just got the new dwarfs army box for Christmas and I am really looking forward to painting these new minis.

I looked through the army book and I love the blues, greens, browns they used but I was wondering if anyone has detailed color schemes they are using?

For example I though of using Regal blue built up to Enchanted with a mix of enchanted and ice blue for highlights but this seems a little too bright for dwarves. Do you guys have any suggestions for a nice green , red or blue that someone could use for dwarves?

When I painted some dwarf equipment (incorporated into the armor of my orc warlord) I used a dark angels green base coat and layered up to snot green. Looked pretty good to me, not to dark, not too bright. As for blues and browns I dont really know what colors would be best.

Aye I guess that would work, I though of something with Catachan green because it looks a lot like cloth. But still blue is a hard one and red too... keep them coming, I\'d love to know what works best!

Saw the dwarf army at the UKGD, they were looking quite nice IRL as well. Very impressive army! :) Are you having hollidays in Sweden now?

Yeah, I\'m in Stockholm enjoying the snow!

mm.. love the snow. Glad you have some! Hope the storm didn\'t kept you from enjoying it outside.

Snow is also a great theme for a dwarfs army. They usually look great with redenedd cheeks and some snow on the bases.

Could you elaborate a little I\'m a bit confused. The Regal blue is the highlight, whats the base coat and the middle color?

I think he\'s saying basecoat with regal blue, then highlight with shadow grey, and then with space wolves grey.

As for the catachan green I don\'t have it so I dont know lol, but if you think it\'d look better than snot green go for it.

So far...

The best I could come up with so far is

Catachan built up slowly to Bleached Bone for GREEN
Shadow Grey built up slowly to Space Wolf Grey for BLUE
and Red Scab built up slowly to BLood red for RED...

They look creamy and similar to cloth but I\'m not sure I like the green...

You could show some painted examples if you are able to.

What kind of green do you want? I think the Vallejo game colour \"Yellow olive\" could give a pretty nice and natural result.
