Iv just got a Gotrek model and was wondering how to paint the hair, i have blood red and fiery orange, and was wondering how to do it?
Maybe start with blood red basecoat and work my way up to orange?

That\'s basically what I\'d do. I find with hair it\'s best to start with the darkest colour and work your way up to the lightest. Washes arn\'t of such benefit nor are blending down then up.

I\'m in the middle of a Doomseeker (Wip - Doomseeker) and toying with the same sort of things. I used to base Blood Red, W & N Deep Red ink wash and then dry brush blood red, blood red/orange (an old humbrol), orange and final thin wash red ink again.

On this one starting with darker VMC Burnt Cadmium Red and working up highlighting with Blood Red (Slow but sure work)

I would also look at War Griffon\'s comments

I use Dark flesh as base for firey red hair. Gives it more of a natural look then plain red. (though sometimes I give it a very slight red wash after doing the shades with black/dark flesh), the highlight with blazen organge and bleached bone (sometimes some yellow too in the mix)

Wow, cdukino, I like them, voted. I\'m not highjacking this thread just had to say that

:D rant over, and I have used the above ways to do hair, mine looks a bit cartoony, but I like that, sometimes:D
