Dwarf Longbeards

Looking for any comments, tips, or helpful ideas in general. I have tried to act on the biggest critique which was deeper shading. Things I am having difficulty with are getting better shades and highlights onmy metals. The picture is much better this time around, and I really can\'t say the photo isn\'t showing some real life stuff. Thanks in advance to all!

Looks good. I\'d still have to say that you should try working more on shading the metals. They can be very tricky to paint. I find it best to go almost all the way to black in the crevices. Have you tried the new washes? I wrote an article about painting metallics with them, might want to give that a shot and see if it works for you.

Good solid minis. I think a bit more contrast all around (lighter highlights and deeper shades) would really make them pop more.

That book is really cool! Hopefully he\'s reading some Lovecraft.:twisted:

Matt- Loved your article on Mettalics, I will try that on a character model and post results. Wasn\'t sure I could put time into doing it across an entire army. I will go for bigger contrasts.. Thanks!

Supervike- Yes that IS a Lovecraft novel, first edition liberated from the vaults of an empire bordertown that had gone over to chaos and joing the cult of Lovecraft. When that town went to war against the dwarfs it was such an epic, tactical, and blood soaked battle that if I were to tell you about it it would drive you crazy..... So I won\'t.
