Dwarf Ranger from Reaper

Hello this is a WIP in progress.... hadnt painted in a long time. The aim of this mini is to make it life like and muted colors so the ranger can blend in with his forest surrounding.

paints used Reaper master paints (RP), GW paints (GW), formula P3 (P3), and vallejo model color (VMC).

Any ways after priming black. I worked on the base:

Base: Muddy Brown (RP) (base coat), then heavly dry brushed some oiled leather (RP), a heavy wash of muddy brown (RP) and Thamar Black (P3). lightly dry brushed some oiled leather again on in some spots. Then a mix of Oiled leather and white (VMC) and dry brushed it only in the highest spots.

For the rocks: a 50/50 mis of thamar black and ironhull grey (both P3). and followed by just ironhull grey only.

The boots were done with a mix 50/50 mix of thamar black and scorched brown (GW)

Leggings: base coat of scorched brown.

Pants: basecaot of burnt umber (VMC)

Bed roll: Burnt cad red (VMC)

Back pack: 50/50 mix of burnt umber and medium grey (both VCM)

cloth: catachan Green and scorched brown (GW) 50/50 mix.

I having doubts about the green though thinking now of adding a coat of Gnarls green and see how that would look.

Any C&C are welcomed and also any ideas.

Nice subtle scheme. But because of the subtleness of the colours I think it would be a good idea to push the contrast between highlights and shadows.

I think the bed roll stands out a bit much. If you are going to use a strong colours in an otherwise subtle scheme it's good to think where you want to have attention. The eye naturally draws towards strong colours which means that the bed roll can feel like a distraction from the head, making it harder to read the miniature.

Thanks for the tip! So basically your saying brighter highlights and darker shadows correct? Yeah i noticed the bedroll right after you said it Im thinking on making it a darker redish brown.
