Earthquake in Italy

Yesterday around midnight I was in the garden with my 3 dogs, qhile my girlfriend was watching Tv on the second floor. The dogs started barking, but i did not notice anything.
When I came up. I found my girlfriend really scared and crying, because the furnitures had started to shake and the lamps to wave!
Fortunately, it was not a big quake and there were no damages here, but near the epicentrum some buildings had cracks!
here\'s the map:

my town, Varese, is north to Milano, in the lake region.

Earthquakes are scary to experience! When I was a kid there were a small earthquake in Sweden near where my grandmother lived and I was there for a visit. Earthquakes in Sweden are extremely rare, so I didn\'t think it was one until things started moving around on the floor. I remember feeling very small. There was no big damage and no injurys, just a few cracks in some buildings near the epicentrum, but it was very scary nevertheless.

the pic seems broken: to insert one you sould click on the icon with the small mountains and put the link of the pic in there (don\'t forget http:// )

Glad to hear all is well. I was in San Francisco in \'89 when the earthquake hit. The whole backend of our apartment at that time fell off, leaving my bedroom suddenly \'very airy\' on the second floor.

Beautiful town you have btw.

thanks, i\'ve been in SF some years ago and i liked it a lot, but i guess that having your own wall disappear should not have been so nice!

I hope everyone is OK, I hate earthquakes.. i\'ve atleast had 4, Iceland often get\'s them because the crust of the earth has a crack in in many places, and one of them runs straight through Iceland, not a pleasant feeling.. but the houses are built well(everything is cement, there\'s not a lot of wooden houses left)
Glad to hear your minis are ok :D

And you are very lucky, Varese looks beautiful.

Hrmmm, I\'ve been through Earthquakes, Tornados (ever seen a semi roll over and over?), HUGE hail storms, blizzard, hurricanes and my wife in a bad mood.

So far I\'ve survived all of them, though I do limp from time to time from the wifes temper.

I\'ve experienced a number of them myself.

Living in San Francisco, I\'m sitting right on the big San Andreas fault line. Biggest I can remember is a 5.0, though I was a baby during the 1989 7.1 which was quite bad. The spooky thing is we\'re due another really big one in two years, and back in 1906 when it last hit the city was pretty much razed.

Oh well, regulations on buildings are better, though there\'s really not much I can do about losing all my minis in one fell swoop :(

I was painting my GD entry and I\'m glad I was not trimming the pupils :)

It was a bit scaring even if we are 200Km away from the centre.

Back to the Doom Divers... ;)

Dont say that you\'ll end up with scruffy mini-painters at your door (like me). Not had a holiday since 2003, funnily enough San Fransisco!!! (plus Yosemite, Death Valley, Vegas & Utah- Canyon lands/Archers) But no earth-quakes ;)

Cant get Java link to work, just look at \'York\' on Google (how very lazy!!!!!!???)
