Earthsea Trilogy illustrations

I\'m trying to find the name of the illustrator who did the chapter illustrations for the (in any case) early paperback editions of Ursula K. Le Guin\'s Earthsea trilogy.

The illustrations look like this:

My old copies of these books are many years and many miles gone. Read the books late last year againand was totally moved. I missed the illustrations I remember, though. Thanks for the help beforehand!

You might try some research in a university archive or from here in the US the Library of Congress. I know it\'s pretty extensive. I dont know the era of that book but I think some of those older books the illustrator was about as important as who made the paper so there wasnt any mention.

The original publishing date is 1968, the ones I had were probably mid-70\'s. I believe the illustrtor\'s name is Ruth Robbins, but I\'d like to confirm that before I trot out and buy the series again. There is a plethora(!) of different editions out there for sale, just wanna hit the right one....

I don\'t remember it all that much so I don\'t know why you would need to read it in the rain????

Since my books are in my parents attic right now, I don\'t even know if my books have those illustrations. Now I\'m gonna have to go over there, get them, and re-read them. The only book I\'ve ever read more then once before was Empire of the East, it was soooo good I\'ve read it three times! I also plan to re-read the Riverworld series, someone I reccomended it to just finished it and thanked me profusely. Now I gotta go back and see why it was so good.

Ursula K. Le Guin is so low-keyed, even battles for life and death unfold slowly and poetically...the entire series is about self-developement and personal realization... but whose? Those who read or that which is read?

Like I said, read them last year for the first time in 20 years or so...I\'ll be reading them again soon.

Yep - should be! Had to wait for DM to get here...and now I\'m looking for someone\'s character sheet on my computer. Gotta go now - everyone is here and waiting for me! Have fun! :flip:
