no assistant manager when I was there, no such animal then. Andy was the senior F/timer, awesome painter

I should imagine we spoke on the phone a few times, as we had to phone the figures through to Thurrock at that time

Hey so I\'m not old enough to apply now but I\'d love to do it at some point. How often do you have openings?

on a serious note, just keep an eye on the site mate and when your old enough go to an open interview at the stores and take recent work with you. (let them know your applying for a position on the eavy metal team or they will just stick you in a retail store)

i would have loved to apply for the sculpting post but (as you can tell from my gallery) im not quite ready for it yet!
did anybody get an answer to the controversial question of salary? we all have a different idea of what low pay is... my first two years out of university i was on £10,500 and was told the \'poverty line\' was about £16,000!
obviously if i learned of anything that put me off the job it wouldnt stop me from sculpting! i want to be as good as i can be regardless of whether anyone will pay me or not! :beer:

the majority of people do fall under the poverty line. (and calling it poverty line is a bit misleading as still having a roof over your head, central heating and food isn\'t realy poverty)
remember, people who earn a crazy amount still get included when politicians work out the average salary earned in their respective country.

i hate all the maths of the different averages! i can never remember them.

What\'s the problem? I live in Canada and I\'m still gonna apply (still have to take a couple photos and make a proper portfolio out of them all... damn midterms and papers this week aren\'t helping matters! It\'ll be over by Christmas... now where have I heard that before?).
For a chance to learn so much from such good painters, moving a few thousand miles doesn\'t seem like such a big hassle

@ Darklord, im fairly certain £34,000 isnt the average wage in the UK, i think its closer to £21-24,000.

:wow: still quite a bit more expensive than i would have imagined, i thought that £30k+ would have been a very good wage.

problem with the average wage is it includes everyone, so top executives, footballers etc. this smaller percentage of real high earners pushes the average up giving nearly £30 whereas the median is around £!4k. the average train driver is on £37k and a nurse £27k
