the trader (currently) known as momentum24 is supposedly selling miniatures painted just like the eavy metal teams painting.

the fact that he is using gw\'s pics and not pics of the minis he has painted is quite obvious.

just thought i would let people know incase any of the newer people here fell for it.

and you know i have set gw\'s dogs on him.

There was a thread about this paricular seller on the Forum of Doom a while back and at that time the seller used the GW stock photos straight up. One member at FoD mailed him and asked him a bunch of questions and also during this time the seller got a neutral feedback from someone who was disappointed at the painting quality (but otherwise happy, thus the neutral feedback).

Most likely, the seller has started to use either photos of his own work or poor photos of GW work since then.

It\'s understandable if the item being sold was still shrink wrapped and using GW pictures, but selling painted mini\'s??? He should get his neck rung.

There certainly is some bizarre stuff going on out there..
There\'s another one I saw recently that I just couldn\'t decide wether or not it was his work or not..mainly eldar stuff (new) he was selling...

Not that I would buy a painted mini from someone but if I did I would have to know the person reasonably well (or a least know where he lives). There seems to be alot of scam artists on ebay it just surprises me that people would do so with minis. Its hard enough to make money out of this hobby if you legit let alone if your trying to scam people.

Oh well greed will always find a way.

Seems to have a lot of good feedback though...

My immediate question is where he finds the time to paint all those models to Eavy Metal standards ??? Got to be a scam in there somewhere.

They work in a studio and paint trying to match eavy\' metals style. I think its fairly legit, although he is using GW\'s pic not his, if they are so similar then he might aswell use those pics.
And he aint had no bad feedback.

Ive seen this guy brought up before on another forum. I think what hes doing is shady, but so far it seems to be working for him. Ive not seen a actualpicture of one of his painted miniatures, but sho knows he might be just as good.

there seem to be a few issues here.
Firstly if he is so good why not a) use his own photo\'s and b) be proud of his work. surely most of us are no matter what our painting level.
Also there must be copyright issue here regarding the photo and gw are normally pretty hot on ebay listings, the removed my listing for a peice of scenery i said would be suitable for warhammer,40k,etc
