Here\'s my entry for GD UK 2008 (before the touch-ups Sven suggested (the spear broke during the trip back, so it needs some mending)) :

Thanks to Anders, Sven, and Tim for all their feedback during the painting phase.

It\'s a lovely piece overall as I\'ve said! :) I really like the colours overall. Looking forward seeing your other entry finished!

Maybe you should try the old bluetac trick for transportation next time around? Though I have to say your bag looked very neat. :)

@Sven : Yeah, I\'ve started completely rethinking my transport strategy :p.

@Matty : Thanks :). To be honnest, the steam is a bit dodgy IRL (colors are a bit too saturated, and texture is lacking). But I was happy with the dynamics even though it made it a bitch to paint :p.

You already know my appraisals and my critique, so I won\'t repeat myself. I will only add...

I can just hear the hissing sound that steam makes.

Very awesome mini! Great paint, interesting scene.

Would you mind giving me a bit of a rundown on how you do the gold NMM?

Please?

I\'ve been experimenting quite a bit lately.

I used to go from dark to light, but know I go from base tone to dark to light with the following Citadel colors :

*) Snakebite Leather;
*) Scorched Brown;
*) Scorched Brown + Chaos Black;
*) Bestial Brown;
*) Snakebite Leather + Sunburst Yellow;
*) Sunburst Yellow + Bleached Bone;
*) Bleached Bone + Skull White.

I find that Bestial Brown is a great \"tidy up\" color for this method.

@Stuart : it was underneath Julien\'s and Vladd\'s entries. If you saw those, than you didn\'t miss anything ;).

@Necroghast : Nope.

@Chris : Thanks :). Life happens :p. It\'s no biggy, the competition in that category was fierce and the winners well deserved their trophies. I spent a great week-end and the comments I got on the spot made my day, so I\'m a happy camper about how things went ;). Now let\'s see some of your WIP. You\'d be surprised how fast people improve from the advice of this site.

No need to be sorry ;).

I too am so sorry that I missed seeing that IRL. Because it really is a great piece of work.
This shows exactly how high the overall standard of this category was.
