Eldar by the bucketload

Ok not quite a bucketload, but a hell of a lot of minis for me to post in one go anyway, so please excuse the high picture frequency in my post.

The Following minis were all painted last week, yep all of them in 7 days flat (don\'t ask me how i did it, all i know is that i didn\'t get much sleep at all, and when i did i had nightmares about drowing in paint :evil: )

i know im not going to win any slayer swords with these minis but given the time frame i think theyre decent,

ok where to begin...

Firstly some Warp Spiders, nasty little buggers these are to paint, not great sculpts, so i did what i could:

Next, some Dark reapers:

Well, as always comments are appreciated,

I\'m gonna go and lie down now :drunk:

Cheers, in advance :)

I think it\'s amazing that you can paint miniatures like that autarch or farseer in a week along with about 30 other minis, and many people will never be able to paint that well.

hee hee ain\'t commissions fun..I have just got a similar order take away Yriel and add the warlocks for the farseer swap dark reapers for banshess and chuck in a wraithlord....:p..luckily I\'ve got 3 weeks to play with..

Totally agree with you on the Warp spiders they are an absolute bitch particularly the Exarch.Love those cobwebs ..really effective..

The weakest of the group probably the Dark Reapers but these are still nice it\'s just a personal thing that I don\'t like white lining on black but still need for speed ...

The characters are beautifully done as always and great work in the timeframe ..Hope you get a chance to rest and recover ..good luck

Mmmm, a wee bit \"army\" compared to your usual stuff, mostly 8s from me, I guess whoever gets this lot will be very happy though.

I had vague images in my head about these, but you have stamped them out. They are super for the time spent and it will be worth the lack of sleep lol

Good stuff, but I don\'t envy you doing all of this in one week! I have been working on one mini this entire week and it\'s far from finished! lol

Wow... one week? :D don\'t burn yourself out mate...

I like them.. and for that amount of time they are great. What I don\'t really like is the bone colour you\'ve used. The shading colour is too pink imo.. I also think it lacks depth. You might have made it darker instead for a cooler overall impact. more like aged bone. One of these preference things I guess, but I think it would have enhanced the final result. I like the farseer best too. :)

Very high quality army (which a truckload of people wish they could do like this). and for one week this is absolutely insane.

My favorite by far would be Yriel. Love the contrast and all that.

I do think you are more then slightly nuts for atempting this though.. and brilliant for achieving it

Cheers for the great reception guys and gals :redface:

In regards to your comments -

@AinuLainour - thanks dude :)

@the alleycat - i started off with the black \"shell\" and finely painted on very dark grey lines of the shape of the web, just to give me something to go from, i then added white bit by bit to the grey, and as i did i receded the highlights further and further to the top of design, obviously to do this without any mistakes is pretty impossble, so i then when back over the design neating up the errors with black, and i then used a couple fo glazes of black feathered in from the bottom to help fade the design onto the shell. hope that helps.

@MathewBaich - Hehe, thanks

@Shawn R. L. - :redface:

@demonherald - Cheers :) yeah the dark reapers were interesting, i picked up the minis and thought, black and cream colour-scheme for basically the WHOLE minis....lovely,

ok, black\'s not my favourite colour, normally people say it just looks grey, because i will try to get smooth gradual highlights, so i kinda opted for the sharper highlights this time, hopefully it at-least looks black, hehe.

@Dammekkos2 - I\'d agree with that, my core target is gamers really, its a tough cookie really, i don\'t know if you saw the tyrion i sold last week (for me a real \"display\" piece). well it got 155 quid, not bad at all you might say, but with doing this for a living, and the sheer hours i put into it, id be lucky to break £4 an hour with it, Whereas these work out at about 1 charachter, or one unit per day, it\'s a fact of trying to find the happy medium between keeping good minis on the go and making good money at the same time.

@EPStudios - Assembled, undercoated, painted and based all in one week :)

@james sequeira - Thanks mate :cool:

@Ritual - Hehe, i wouldn\'t recommend it to anyone unless they are in serious money trouble..

@Avelorn - Thanks, the funny thing about the bone colour is i showed the autarch to my brother, he said the highlighting on the blue was too strong and that i should have shaded it like the bone which was \"just right\", i said cameras dont pick up subtle shading that, that\'s why i\'ve gone for quite harsh highlighting, h\'e didnt beleive me, but here we are lol,

Eitherway, yes i would have to agree, i think i should have added more contrast considering the amount of contrast in the armour.

@cdukino - Thanks :redface: when i got yriel i thought the model was interesting but not that great, but it\'s really grown on me.....it\'s packed with detail :drool:

@Arma - Thank-you :) yes, very thin, and many, many layers, sometimes multiple layers of the same shade to get a solid colour.

Once again thank-you so much everyone.

Joe.

Thanks dude, i\'ll have to give that a try if i ever get round to them. I\'m stalled atm on whether my craftworld colours are really working for me... time for a few more test model guardians :rolleyes:

Yeah I saw that, I\'d say it\'s possibly your best piece so far. £155 is a definate steal, probably the only thing missing from that mini was some official GW recognition, maybe if you keep your best stuff for GD each year then sell it after the official coverage booklet is released you can boost your prices considerably, \'cos I\'m certain you\'ll pic up a gold some time, it\'s surely inevitable (though I understand that option might not be so attractive what with you youngsters and your need for regular beer money and the like).

Oh god....

This is just amazing...! In a week! Do you have 20 arms, all working on a different miniature at the same time?

You are truly inspirational, I\'m gonna have to go spend all my rent on some new eldar...after the templars, wood-elves and rohirrim are finished... :D

My scheme is pretty much the opposite of yours, being black and red, but these are so well painted, I\'m sure I can glean something to use on mine...

And you have to tutorial some of your techniques...I really think you\'re one of the best painters on here...
