Eldar fire prism for you to look at!

Hiya Everyone!

I have just finished a commission for an eldar fire prism. Some of you may remember this from such threads as \'dullcoat is being a knob!\' lol luckily I managed to save it after the varnish leeched the paint.

First time I have ever tried freehand on this scale so would appreciate some feedback.

Coooooooooooooooooooooool. Love the gems and \"space\" and all that. Freehand is good, a bajillion times better than I\'m capable of. Keep up the good work OD.

Very good first impression. I am not so sure about the face. Gems looks very good. Would it possible to show closeup of his face?

Glad you managed to save it OD, tho I never thought it the leeching was that bad TBH

It looks great from the distance shot on the submission, but wuda been nice to have some extra for those cockpit OSL effects and the \"angel\"

Glad you pulled it through. Personally, althouh it looks well executed, I don\'t really like the freehand, doesn\'t seem eldar like, and the proportions of the figure needed reworking to my mind. The colour choice is good, the stars look good, best for me looks to be the cristal, I\'d love to get a biiger pic of that, and also the work on the pilots is really nice and subtle, just the job.

The angel design was at the request of the client, so was a case of doing what was asked (always important when painting commissions!). I thought the space feel would compliment the design well, and luckily the client agreed!

from this I envisioned the Fire Prism flying at night, and painted the crew in OSL to represent this, with the cockpits being illuminated by the monitors. Gets lost slightly with the canopies on so here are some WIP shots to show this

Awesome work, voted and commented. The face is a little off, I think it\'s just the placing of the eye which makes her look a bit Neanderthal, but that\'s a tiny nitpick in an overall great piece. 9 from me

I am not entireley 100% happy with the face myself- it never looked right after it needed to be redone due to the purple paint leeching into it after dullcoat.

Yeah, to me she\'s got too much forehead and too much chin, plus what \'s been said about the eye, although I do know a few people who look preety similar???
