thats actually an awesome idea thanks for passing on the wisdom general lol I did one pass with hobby files and started:cussing: before goin back to using an exacto in the potato peeler fashion

I would third the suggestion to move the pilot back get his arse closer to the back of the seat and if it helps it look better shortening the handle bar as well get him in a crotchrocket pose

Heres some reference pics, and one idea I had lookin thru these is a neat way to show some dynamic poses fairly easy with a bike is tilt it on it\'s flight base and shift the drivers center of gravity to give the appearance of a highspeed turn. Last Pic is a reference for that pose. Hope it helps and good luck

@Bengoodall, Recoil, Friar~ I agree perhaps to bend his knees more to shift him back, Which I think will also mean moving the torso. I think it\'ll look better with the arms in place as well.

@generalpoleaxe, Friar~ I normally use filler and fine grit sandpaper after I\'m done filing. Please explain this Wet/Dry Paper on a Steeke? I\'ve never heard it.

not to speak for General but my understanding is just simply take that super fine grit wet dry sand paper and glue it to a cocktail stick I spose a popcicle stick, kabob stick and such could also work dependin on how flat or the tight spots you gotta get into. basically a nice cheap way to make super fine files. bein on the stick I would imagine makes it swank for doin those anoyin areas in the crooks of arms or other spots just gettin the fine grit paper into would be impossible. lol Hopefully I\'m not off my rocker on this explanation

Right now I\'m really just concentrating on parts and fit. The rest I\'ll work on when that is done.

Like I know I have to fill and shape the underside and the turbine housing, and I\'m not happy with the putty fill test exhausts.

But I\'ve never glued the paper to a stick ???

But then I wouldn\'t be able to \"pull\" the paper, so it\'d kind of just be like a finer grit file.

the idea is that it becomes a very fine grit file, you learn fast padawan

the jet bike concept looks cool mate.
just wouldn\'t want to see file marks or mould lines showing through the paint work on it at the end that\'s all. (use a magniying glass and hold it at various angles and you will see all the little lines and marks)

Generally I try not to use files on plastic if I can help it, you really notice the marks with most needle files. They\'re designed to chew through pewter and plastic is just too easy for it lol

Extremely careful use of a wicked sharp Xacto can sometimes clean the mould lines easier than files. Obviously this is a technique that\'s very easy to mess up.

I do use a knife for flat mold lines. the ones that are being pointed out are actually join lines.
I generally use diamond files for my metals, and lightly with regular files on plastics and like I said, filler and paper for finish before prime and paint.
I like using paper and pushing it into the grooves with a toothpick or pencil and pulling the end of the paper so it slides along in the groove. But that\'s just my technique.

But then again, I haven\'t posted alot of the \"good stuff\"...lol.

Actually that\'s because I haven\'t put that much effort into a mini for a long time. I got used to churning out table-top armies.
I\'ve even tried limiting my commissions to squads, and NOT armies, but then I just get alot of single/squad commissions that eventually EQUAL armies.
I was really inspired by the by my first glimpse of the prototype. And decided to try my hand at it.
I want to do this one, a \"shrieker\" variety and a Vyper Version as well.
I\'m Shyte with sculpting GS but hack \'n slash is my bread and butter. I\'ve never fielded an \"out of the box\" commander.

Anyway, back to the pits....

I finally broke down and used greenstuff, I have the legs bent and positioned working on the upper body and handlebars as time permits.

Greenstuffed the space where the pedal goes.

and if I make a suggestion, Take a look at the Batpod off the new movie. I saw the making back a couple of months and they were explaining that it didn\'t have a turning front fork. Turning was accomplished by the rider shifting his weight against the bike, Hench the large arm guards and knee protectors. just an idea.

Finally got more time to continue.
Finished sanding, primed.
Finally have the rider\'s arms positioned.
Want to get painting, so I thought in fairness that you all deserved to see the go before the painting started.

I\'ve learned loads of things about my first attempt at remaking the jetbike.

The next will be much smother, and I am going to try the \"leaning turn\" look to it.
I\'ve also learned that I need to put more effort into the rider next time.

Okay, without further stalling, I\'ll post pics.
