Ok, this is the first miniature I have entered with the goal to approach the #50 from my current position.

Excellent....

If you have a goal of being in the top 50, this is the right path.

The cloak is incredible, the colors are rich and full.

My only complaint is that the face looks a little flat compared to the rest...But that is just a minor complaint...Keep doing what you are doing, and you will definately rise in the rankings....

8.0 ? The CMON crowd is really getting harsher and harsher... I gave it a 9 (8.5 actually, and was in a good mood). Nice cloak - and tutorial - and the front of the mini is beautifully shaded.

I definately agree with SuperVike. You are on your way to that improved ranking!!

And not only is the paint job beautiful, I really like how you included a little mini-tutorial in the description. Very helpful!

Yeah, I\'m with Vike, the face looks a bit flat and although I don\'t think the space theme on the cape fits the mini, it\'s still a great effect. I gave you a 9, too.
And good luck on your way to the top 50!

About the face, you\'re right, it looks a bit flat but it was intentional.. maybe next time I\'ll try to \"shape\" better the shadows.

About the cloak... I was thinking to the Eldar Ranger like a lone mercenary and want to give him something unique like a themed cloak different to the usual eldar runes or patterns.

I\'m happy you like the small tutorial.

I like ur ranger..... he\'s well done and certainly deserves a high score.

However, I think if you really wanna get nitpicky about the paintjob, the face could do with more shading and highlighting.
This doesnt mean however that you have to use really dark shadows. Perhaps try to make up a batch of skintones from dark to really rite, with much bigger leaps in contrast between them. Then shade the face like you would a real human face.... Look in the mirror for a reference..... You\'ll find that certain folds of the face, apart from the hollows of the cheek have subtle changes in colour.

I really like it. There are a few little imperfections in the painting, but we can\'t all be Cyril ;) Nothing to seriously detract from the mini, so overall 9.

I really like the base, what did you make it out of?

Thank for your comments Tabithatan, you\'re right... I need comments about my errors so I can paint better next mini :D

Trevor: thank you for your comments.
About the base.. it\'s just a block of styrofoam shaped with a cutter and glued on the base. Then I have sprayed a thin layer of GW black primer... this melt the styrofoam a bit giving a nice \"rocky\" effect.
I have added a bit of fine gravel around the base gluing it with PVA glue and Vallejo Pumice Stone for the musk/grass.

I have painted the stone using Vallejo Dark Bluegrey 867 and then adding highlights with Dark Blue Grey 904 (yes, same name but different colors), Stone Grey 884 and a bit of Beige 917.
All the highlight was blended without the use of drybrush to have a better control of the shades.
For the musk: Flat Green 968, Olive Green 967 and Lime Green 827.
