No, I\'m not crazy. Ok maybe I am. Just a little.
Yes, it\'s another WIP. I\'m extremely busy, let\'s just put it that way. And with the golden demons just around the corner, who knows what entries I will have!
This is a little side project commission. A friend of mine recently stopped painting commissions, so he gave this to me, as he does not have the time any more to paint it. The customer is cool with it.
Anyway it\'s a Biel Tan army. Lots of vehicles, so I\'ll be getting my airbrush out for sure. I\'ll include the color recipes with everything.
First up we have the Fire Dragons. These were a blast to paint!
I primed them white, then airbrushed them Blood Red. The whole model was then given a wash of 50/50 P3 Sanguine Base and Red Gore. The armor was painted with Blazing Orange, making sure to avoid the cracks. Finally, Fiery Orange was painted on to the edges.
The helmets were painted with Iyanden Darksun. Snakebite Leather was thinned down and used for shading. Next I highlighted it with 50/50 Iyanden Darksun and Sunburst Yellow, followed by pure Sunburst Yellow on the edges.
The Guns were painted with Chaos Black, then highlighted with 50/50 Codex Grey and Chaos Black, then pure Codex Grey was used on the edges.
Chainmail was painted on the metal areas, and was washed with Tin Bitz. A Chaos Black was was added to the tips of the guns.
The two colors of gems were based with Sanguine Base and Scaly Green, highlighted with Red Gore and Hawk Turquoise, and then a final highlight of Blood Red and Space Wolves Grey was used.
Next up we have one of the bikers. This was a test model for the rest of the vehicles.
Following a white undercoat, I airbrushed the model with P3 Menoth White Base (very close to Bleached Bone). Then it was given a wash of Gryphonne Sepia. MWB was mixed with Skull White for highlights, followed by Skull White on it\'s own. Make sure to do a couple thin layers of white to ensure it\'s smooth.
All the green areas were based with Chaos Black first, as green is terrible to paint over white. Then I painted those areas with Dark Angels Green. Several layers were used in between DAG and Snot Green, followed by a touch of Goblin Green on the edges.
Red gems were painted the same as the Fire Dragons. The blue gems were based with Midnight Blue, highlighted with Regal Blue, followed by Enchanted Blue, and finally a touch of Space Wolves Grey on the edges.
By the way, nothing has been based yet if you hadn\'t noticed. I\'m not sure how the customer wants it based yet, still waiting to find out.
That about does it for now! I\'ll be updating this one often too, along with my Bretonnian thread.
Thanks for looking, and happy painting!
