My first post in about a year - took time off house hunting then house purchasing. Good news is we did finally buy a house; it\'s wonderful to be a homeowner, but the recent home inflation made the whole process a LOT more expensive than it should have been.

Anyway, I think this gal has turned out slightly better than my previous posts. Lots of room for improvement, but I think I am getting better. Am dissapointed in the NMM, eventually got frustrated and just decided to finish the damn thing. Grr. I am still working on the photography thing - the darker, yellower background made the colors of the fig photograph much truer to real life than a blue or white background.

As always, I appreciate any votes, comments or constructive criticism!

Loved the paint jb. The fleash is very well done as is the face. My only prob is the way the mini sits on the base. It looks like you just plonked it on maybe blend it in with GS or something. Anyway love it and voted an 8 for it.

Oh dear,.
You are correct.
This was my first base all done by my little lonesome. The big rock is a piece of pine bark painted, and getting it to stick wasn\'t easy. I think my grip slipped a bit when placing Eldessa on the top.
Well, my husband wants to use her in a WH Dark Elf army, and she needs to go on a 20mm base...so I\'ll have to move her anyway.
Thanks so much for the 8!

It looks really nice, the skin especially! The blendings are great and I like the atmosphere.

The weak part is her eyes. I\'m not sure how the sculpt look but the eyes are far too large and the irises aren\'t entirely aligned. I\'d also not make the shading under the eyes that deep, the important part for framing out eyes are shading the upper part. Finally try to make the irises rounder. Painting eyes are tough business, I sometimes need to repaint them lots times to get the desired effect.. therefor I try to do them just after I\'ve done the basecoat of the skin.. then I don\'t risk ruining anything else on the face.

I agree with Avelorn here, the eyes are the main problem area. the whites definitely need to be trimmed down a bit, and the skin tone blended up to soften the transition to the dark lining around the eye.

The skin looks great though, as does the cloth

I like how the cape is dark at the bottom and fades to red. The background is so bright, it detracts from the mini.

nicely done. i think i will start work on mine too. i just bought this one last week. a great sculpt. blend up the highlights on the red and you could also get a higher score to.

a solid 8 from me. keep it up. :)

i agree. i also agree that the base could do with looking less separate. still, a lovely mini with some awesome blending. i especially love the skin and the red
