looks beautiful, well ugly if you know what i mean. the only thing that irks me a little is there seems to be some black lining, which should be toned down a bit. although it could be the photo/my eyes

I suspect that its an experiment in larger scale for Tommie, because it's nowhere near his normal high standard.

Colours are flat, there's no shadow shaping round the face and don't forget E.R.1 used a fair amount of white face slap (Can't remember if it was Arsenic or White Lead based).
But the thing that stands out to me the most is the collar ruff, the black shadowing just looks wrong for something that was made from Lace.

Cheers guys :)
Very spot on as well mr dodds, she was a first.
There are very subtle tone changes round her face, it was difficult not to make her look like a 'tramp' if you catch my drift, and to keep the blends mega smooth on such large surfaces
As can be with commissions there is a brief
here is the box art i was to copy :)

The fleshtones on the box art seem more 'redheaded' to me...pinker I think (not just the cheeks) but still pale. However, I think the eyes and the gems/golds are much nicer in yours than the reference...those were actually the first things I noticed when looking at it. Beautiful job!

Agreed, the way you've painted the gems and eyes is much better. Did you decide on purpose not to apply the make-up on the cheekbones?
