Elysian Drop Trooper

Hi all,

My second submission to CMON is pretty much ready. Detail and unit markings are still missing on the shoulder pads. Again, I have to apologize for the lousy picture quality; lighting in this apartment is just no fun

Colors used are a mix of Vallejo model colors and GW. Armor goes from midnight blue up to 1:1 mix of Luftwaffe uniform with bleached bone. I put about 9 highlights on the armor. The suit started with Vallejo model color leather and works up to a 1:1 mix of German medium brown and bleached bone. Other colors used include extra dark green, park green flat, german medium green and beige. The visor came out OK, but was looking for a NMM style effect. After this guy I decided I definitely will not be spending this much time on each mini; my first batch had about 3-4 highlights and looked pretty darn good.

C+C welcome. Thanks!

you have the whole thing in muted earthly tones and then.... you have this horrible yellow thing smack n the middle of it. So my advice for now would be to redo that part in an other color, because right now that\'s where the eye is attracted to, and my guess is, you don\'t won\'t people looking specifically at that part :p

Well, after hearing from folks here, plus my wife, I decided to change the yellow and am working on unit insignias as well. I\'m going to try and get some better pictures posted as well; the pics I put up really don\'t do him justice.

I\'d say change the background colour if you can, I like it the visor is very well done the muted feeling of it is done well as said only thing pulling it down is the yellow. I think the base is nice as well, all in all its a nice solid piece of work well done :D

very nice piece of work. But if I was that poor soldier, I\'d be finding me a can of spray paint to cover up that yellow tank - good way to get yourself shot at.

Much better - although I would\'ve like to have seen the melta canister still yellow, but with a dirtying effect - as though the trooper himself had made the effort to camouflage it :)

One of the main reasons the British army stopped using the magnificent red and white uniforms is that enemy troopers found that the crossed white straps across the bright red made a perfect crosshair to aim at :)

Nice work. Did the vote thing. I think the base could use some more work discarded equipment etc. Overall nice job tho.
