Okay, I\'ve basecoated the hat with kommando khaki as the first step in my bone/white scheme and I\'m not sure I like it. While it may look better when finished I\'d really appreciate some advice from the rest of you. Blue is definately an option, I\'m just concerned that he\'s going to be too blue. Well here is what I\'ve got right now. I\'m going to finish the rest of him before continuing on the hat, I\'d love to see some feedback.
i donno, it seems to me hes lacking in variety, is there going to be styled freehand to break up the plain=ness of him?
if so red, green and black freehand would look nice all over the beige stuff and reduce plain-ness, while some simple stuff on the blue would help
however if you arent doing freehand, he might get too broing with simple colours and nothing special

If he were mine, I would have gone with the blue, as I feel it is a more strkinh colour. The Khaki is nice enough but doesn\'t do much to bring out the golden face- I feel the eye will be drawn towards the face more if the hood were blue.
I also agree that a bit of freehand would look fandabbiedozie, and there are areas to apply this, like the diamond shaped material on his belt and the cloak.

Thanks for the input. As soon as I finish off everything else I\'ll repaint the hat blue. As for free hand I originally wasn\'t planning on it I\'ve had some good ideas for so I may just give it a shot. I think some scarab icons in white on the blue diamonds hanging from the belt, and a large eye of ra type icon in the back of the cloak in blue. I\'m also going to darken up the recesses of the cloak with a couple washes. My goal is to finish him today as much as I can since I start back in University tomorow and I want as much painting (and converting) time as possible for my several competition entries.

Well took a short break from painting. Decided to see if I could figure out anything more about the priest and halfling. Finally found them on Stuff of Legends. They are from expansions to the third edition of Talisman (Aha! I was right, thats what I get for listening to others). Heres the link:

Ok. Got some shots of a warrior priest (one of the old ones) i\'ve been working on. Originally planned to be my fantasy entry in a local competition but never got anywhere near ready in time. Here\'s what I\'ve done so far:

Ok. Here is where I got to with my librarian before the competition (see the Last Minute Competition Painting thread a page or two back if you want to). I\'ll be posting progress on him in here from now on.

I\'m really liking the weathering on the librarians armour. The Imperial Eagle on top of the Psyker helemt tingy, looks like its gonna fall off though?!

@Quiksilver: Thanks, the weathering is my first serious attempt at the free hand scratches. The imperial sigil on the psychic hood is a little crooked but its firmly attached like nobodies business, it\'s not going anywhere lol...
@rosac: I fully intend to have freehand on the cloth, I just havent done it yet. I\'m going to do some script and the Blood Raven icon again, maybe a couple swirls on the bottom... All in all there are about 10 hours of paint work in him, give or take, so a quick job for that amount of detail
I need to repaint the staff but I\'m having a hard time determining a colour scheme, I\'m going to keep the head silver, and the power source I\'m thinking will be red, but im not sure about the shaft. Any ideas or suggestions?
I havent done any painting as I\'m battling a hell of a cold right now, so as soon as I get over it I\'ll be posting more pictures.
