Emperor\'s Champion in the Paintathon!

Ok, so I\'m also in the Groundforge Paintathon. Here\'s my entry, it\'s an \"Arctic\" Emperor\'s Champion that goes together with the Space Marine I did before. (I have slightly bigger pics at my website).

Hmmm.... This competition gets fiercer and fiercer!

This mini looks great! The sword is the best part IMO (although the tabard is excellent too). I like the stained white armour a lot, as well. The base looks good, but it seems a bit high and weak for a sturdy heavily armed marine like him.

Thanks guys! I know some people are a biy uncertain of the base, but together with the other two it doesn\'t look so wobbly or strange. I have just begun to paint the third and last one, and I\'ll post a pic of all three of them once I\'m done.

Oh.. very nice! =) I\'m just working on an emperors champion.. but somehow I managed to paint the tabard like a blind monkey yesterday. So I have to redo it today.. grr.. but I find this piece very inspiring.

BTW, Anja... Speaking of group pics... I\'m working on the final member of my group of inquisitorial henchmen. I\'ll do a group photo of the three, as you suggested, once it\'s finished.

Hej Astonia beatiful work on this, i\'m not found about the height of the base but the painting work is supergood, don\'t you mind if i take your glowing eyes as \"inspiration\"? The closeup on groundforge makes more easy to learn the steps, also if you want to give some advice on how to do you\'re more than welcome.

I\'m not so good, but great work, I love the dirty white armor, suits him nicely. All I can criticise is maybe the NMM, i think you need to highlight it a little more. Keep up the good work, this is a 9 in my book

Oh I would love to do an article with step by step photos and such, there just isn\'t any time As soon as things slow down a bit I\'ll do plenty of articles. As for the eyes on the Emperor\'s Champion, I just looked at Cyril\'s article here on cmon. The white armour is built up from kommando khaki via bleached bone to skull white with some black washes to dirty it up a bit.

While I like the paintjob in general, I don\'t care for the base at all. It looks like he\'s jumped up on top of a table during a barroom brawl, which takes some of the lustre off the paintjob. Would the Emperor\'s champion be caught wielding his sword down at the pub? Somehow, I think not...
