Great.
Highlighting black armor only on the edges is a choice that most GWites make on their space marines. It looks good but it seems basically a shortcut. It offers no atmosphere, no light source, and it really isn\'t hard to do. It\'s basically a way of getting out of blending. It just doesn\'t look very reallistic.
I\'d take the purity seals up another step also.

My vote: An eight.

wow that white mask makes this mini look very cool

I don\'t really like the way you highlighted the robe: from black to red and then to orange, but it looks very good from a distance.

Voted 8 :)

I like the colorscheme, and the NMM looks pretty good. But I think the highlights on the black armor looks to simple. And I really don´t like the scratches on the armor, especially not on his left arm. They are too brown and the highlights around them is too white.

Btw, I really like the white mask. great! 7,5 - 8.

It is often the small details that make a figure - and the simple contrast of the black armour and the white visor/mask part of the helmet is an excellent example :)

I agree with a number of other points made:

* The robe higlighting looks a little strange going up from such a dark red up to orange - perhaps consider giving it a red wash/glaze

* The armour damage... I\'m not sure what exactly it IS that doesn\'t sit right with me, I don\'t think it\'s necessarily the colours, but SOMETHING doesn\'t look right

* I do think you could bring the higlighting of the armour up a few shades - even if just 1 or two

But overall, esp. with the NMM, this is a great figure

I agree the robes look a bit weird - but the black is fine! So is the rest. It\'s impossible to do lots of blending on black while keeping it black. Highlighting it in this way is neither a \"shortcut\" nor and \"GWite\" method. Even Jakob Nielsen\'s tutorials say that the best way of highlighting black is with sharp, thin highlights on the edges. I gave this mini a 9, because the robe needs a bit more work, and the freehand on the shoulder pad is very rough. However, I love the mask, the NMM and the weathering. The faded checkerboard freehand is particularly nice, and the chipped rust is excellent if a bit unsubtle. Fantastic mini overall.
Great job, Robacek. Keep painting! :D

Rather than highlighting the red with orange you should have gone from dark red to blood red. The shoulder pad looks not quite right as does the robes. The rest of the mini is fantastic. I love the sword.
