Emperors Vengeance Chapter

Hiya, sorry for the glossyness, I could have sworn this was Matt varnished!!! Anyone know how (if possible!) to remedy this?

This is the test piece for my very own Chapter, The Emperors Vengeance. I played this safe by chosing colours I know work well together and was inspired by Golden demon winners Shadow Falcons from the 90\'s.

The Chapter originated from The traitor legion of The Emperors Children (hence the purple and gold on the model. I also chose to highlight the black with turquoise to tie in with the traitor E.C) They stayed loyal to the emperor during the Heresey and have changed their armour colour to black and bone to mourn the fall of the chapter, with the purple being a constant reminder to them that they are true children of the Emperor. The Purple Comet is representative of the fall of the honour of the Chapter, and also the Comet that Brought Fulgrim, The E.C Primarch to the land of Chemos and to Humanity when he was a child- A reminder of the Birth , and fall of their Primarch , a double edged knife.

I wanted to do an original marine army, as I think everyone has a soft spot for Marines somewhere, but wanted a background that would mean they had a reason to fight other marine chapters too. I imagine these boys being disliked by everyone cause of their geneseed origin, and truly on their own in the galaxy. When I read the Horus Heresey novels this sealed the deal- just have to convert Saul Tarvitz as Chapter master now!

Tarvitz was a traitor! No actually, I dunno about that i\'m near the end of the 1st one. Bloody good books!

Anyway..Matte the bugger! This things more bling than A rap convention.
Dulcote I hear is rather nifty, never used it though. I\'m sill using the gw matte I had...

Ed* like the higlighting too! Works well.
Love the colours and the fluff\'s pretty neat. One the sheens dead this\'ll look awesome me doh think. Nice

cool fluff and a ice colour selection..
A little neatening here and there and a dulling down on that shine and me thinks you\'ll have one cool looking army.

@TBS I\'m halfway through the second ..the pace in the second is a lot more my taste find Graham Mcneil easier reading..Dan Abnett writes a little too much unneeded detail for me at times.

Rumours are Ben Counter\'s F:cussing:ed the last one up a bit though.

Not a big fan of counter. The Souldrinkers novels were a bit plain for my taste. Love Abnett, hes\' a master with words!
McNiells\' a great whriter too, loved the Ultramarine series!

i am halfway throught the 3rd novel and am enjoying them all.

@dave - thought the marine looked a little crap when i first saw him, but on further inspection, he\'s actually very nice. just that \'orrible glossyness!!! i would recommend dullcote. great stuff. there are places in the uk that sell it now. i\'m at my parents\' gaff for the weekend so have no links. i shall post one when i get back - assuming i rememeber and no-one has posted one already. if not, pm me

That dullcoat link would be a godsend thanks, have been trying to get my hands on it for ages in the uk, but think i have more chance of finding the holy grail!

I have read the first two, and never before have I wanted to read a book as badly as galaxy in flames to see how it all ends (or begins as the case is!) I bought it at gamesday and was lucky enough to get all 3 copies signed by their respective authors, but have to wait for my birthday till I actually get it (oh well only 6 more days to go YAY!)

I have since given him a coat of matt and this has helped slightly. Will lay off giving another coat though till I gets me a hold of some Testors. I am really pleased with the paint job, but he is currently rated at 5.8 cause of the varnish! (which is only fair I \'spose, as people can only rate what they see...)
