End of the year assestment

OK... it\'s the end of another year and i think i\'ve made a [little] dent in my minis.

Still have;
33 minis
12 familiars
1 diarama (two minis) and
1 Titan
left to paint/finish building. But, everything that\'s been promised is done, so i\'m fairly happy.

How\'s everyone else\'s piles-o\'-pewter doing? Well, i hope lol

Hmm -

You want my in Iraq pile or my in the states pile -

Iraq - Nids from the Mccrag Set, about 60 Basti from Crocodile Games, 30 or so from Reaper.

Stateside - about 500 - 800 or so figures in storage waiting to be painted.

At the start of the year, I promised myself that I would paint 2 mini\'s for every 1 I bought. By the end of the year I have a new unpainted ogre Kingdoms army, 16 wood elf glade guard, and I think I have painted 5 Ogres.

Not too good then. However this time I will make a much more reasonable painting goal. I promise to pick up the brush this year. (note how there is no mention of how many times)

Hmmm, well I did pretty well for most of the year, not really buying much, but after my girlfriend left me, all hell broke loose and I\'ve returned to trying to make my house look like a GW store (only with more minis and no annoying brats*). The world is back in balance and I can happily stare at a growing pile of minis I\'ll never paint...

* yes I mean the staff... (sorry guys lol )

Mmm I am happy to say that despite finishing more minis this year than in others my pewter pile is steadily increasing.

Well, this is still my first year back in the hobby after a really long break, so my mini pile hasn\'t changed appreciably...
It\'s grown.
But, I think I may actually be getting better at painting the darned things.

My goal for this coming year....

Win a contest. That\'d be cool. Unlikely, but cool.

The pile is increasing

Like Steelcult, I have a huge pile onboard ship awaiting the brush, although these are mostly Warmaster 10mm scale and the mountain at home has not decreased.

Painting wise I have manged a lt beter than previous years, managing to complete about 6 Warmaster Orc and Goblin units and around 9 normal size figures.

Not much of a dent I know but for next year I plan to be a lot more productive

The \'pile\' is growing like a cancer.

I\'ve painted three minis this year.

I can\'t plan to be more productive either, marrying in April will give me even less time for painting.

The future looks bleak, but; like Naukhel, I\'m getting better at this paint-slapping lark.

I\'ve actually got a painting day planned - Sunday - and am going to try to cut the pile down a bit.

And watch Kingdom of Heaven - I figured it was a good day for both.

Well it\'s coming along nicely.. but I don\'t have a pile yet. lot\'s of nearly finished stuff know though. Will roll up my sleeves and get stuck in after christmas.

It never ends I paint one and two more pop up. When will it stop aaaaarrrggggg!!!!

I have 1/2 an ogre army to do plus a few comp models then I will start on mt GD entries and then .......

My pile is getting quite small, a strange occurance I noticed when I started to do the inventory for the January paiting sessions and realized that I was running out of options.

Normally I do not have a large collection in the first place, but when I was taking time off to do NaNoWriMo I had a dozen in the queue. Now, taking into account the two that I have reserved (one because it is a 54mm nude and I need more time to work on thin paint techniques to do her justice) I only have a little less than a half dozen in the queue.

I\'ve got around 10 pewter minis and two squads of GW 13th Company Space Wolves neatly stashed away waiting to be prepped and painted.

2005 was a sad year for me mini wise.

I painted none and only bought one. (Which I\'m working on now)

Let\'s see

I was doing awesome at not buying any mini\'s this year... too busy with moving, wedding, work, and other irl stuff. Until I saw an add on Livejournal where someone was selling \'random\' minis for $5. Just gained about 30 nice new Reaper minis from teh late 80s.

Managed to paint about 6, so the hoard is down a bit was down a bit before that purchase.

Still leaves probably about 2000-5000 minis to be painted though. Very rough estimate, never counted and never want to.

Last year was a bad year, found a local supplier of confrontation. Have 2 milk crates full of still carded Rackhams, then there was picking up two more copies of Warhammer Fantasy for the orc chariots and the handgunners. I kept meaning to sell the rest but never did.

Still have a hoard in storage from my high school days, plus my dads old collection up in an attic that I keep meaning to pick up.

Me too. I think this whole year I probably only bought 3 minis.
Then some incredibly generous person gave me basically a High Elf Army - doubled the size of the one I\'m working on.

Oh wait, I did buy a copy of Space Hulk, GorkaMorka and Blood Bowl which all came with minis. But hey, it was $14 for all 3. I couldn\'t turn that down.
