Hi, photo not the best but from what I can see you need to get some highlights on there. Especially on the edges of the armor. Make sure you don't have the paint to thick. Lots of thin layers are better that one thick one.

yeah... I need a couple more lights for my booth. The paint is actually 2-3 thinned down, (1-1) coats. Maybe I should thin them out even more?

I think you've got decent enough smooth coverage, but it's the lack of contrast. Deepen the shadows, and over emphasize the highlights. It'll help give more 'pop'.

But, I do have to say, that look you've captured on your Sgt. face is awesome. It seriously has some emotion to it. Do more of that! LOL

"Deepen the shadows, and over emphasize the highlights"

Good advise! I may just drop another highlight on it to get that contrast. It always looks good to me in person, but in pictures it kind of washes it out.

I struggle with that same exact thing. In my hand, it looks right, but when I take a photo, it never pops enough. I have to consciously push my highlights further than I think I should. (and mostly that doesn't work for me, but I'm trying!)

In the same line as what supervike says some colour separation between the metal and blue. Shading should make that happen.

All I can think of is maybe some shading around the rivets, like on the shoulder pads, otherwise he looks great, voted and stuff, thanks :)
