hate to have to put another topic on the owrld cup, but i would like peoples views on the best players in england (in the squad or not). personally i like frank lampard and sol campbell

I liked this guy called Pomping in England v Paraguay, and there was a player in the Germany v Poland match called Schweinschteiger, which translates as pig-climber lol That sounds so horrendously wrong I won\'t even discuss it, but it is a common name in Germany :eek:

I\'m a Liverpool man myself, so I have to go with Steven Gerrard. And I\'m really liking his teammate Peter Crouch.

Gerrard was rubbish most of the game (in fact our wonder midfield were quite useless really) but bless him! that shot!

Still, football is a fine game, especially when you\'re 1st or 2nd in your fantasy league :D

Tried watching the match yesterday but the first 20-odd minutes put me off. Have they any other game than long ball after all these years under Sven? Really weird...

The long ball is p***ing me off too... I reckon Sven must be getting his tictacs off Graham Taylor. Cmon England.... on the floor ffs... on the floor!

Having said that (from an historical point of view) great start and hopefully they\'ll step up the pace in the next round.... Just got the nemesis of Sweden to endure first though lol - usually a really tedious game :(

I prefer the egg ball too.
however I said before the tournament started that this world cup could well be the stage for a player who has matured at the right time.Joe Cole. early indications look good. John Teryy also having a blinder.However being born in Australia I am still too drunk from their win to comment on any other matches.

I love the way football brings us together! That Australia performance was a cracker.
