now this could fit both conversion and conventions... but I post it here anyway...
so I\\\'m working on a mini... and I just started like a couple of days ago... so I was wondering if I manage to get this finnished in time, is there a chance to enter it to GD?

here\\\'s what I\\\'m doing... a Chaos SM Lord conversion.. but he is on a Privateer Press base... so! can I enter it if I finnish it in time?

they may penalise you for the base, they may not.

i say stick it in the cabinet anyway, even if it gets disqualified for using other companies parts it will still be on display.

No way it would place if it\'s on a PP base I don\'t think, but you could make final cut with it. I don\'t expect they would just disqualify it because it\'s a non GW base... maybe they would.

You could always obscure the base with terrain or flock or something and enter it in \"open.\"

Without the correct size base I don\'t think it will be a legit entry into the single figure category.

hmm... bummer, anyway... I\'m not sure I will enter it, isn\'t the kind of result I was hoping for :/

the french are relaxed about the rules.

the uk is possibly the strictised of them all as far as rules are concerend (most of the time)

enter it as their not too choosey about their own rules.....lol
not last year but the one before they had a bretonian diorama with LotR parts in it .....are they copyrighted? but it won bronze demon i think

Enter it..

And its not a Privater Press base.. that base is made by a company called Dice and Games Ltd of the UK. They make the bases and sell them to anyone who wants them, including Privateer Press.

As others have pointed out, GW isnt as anal about things as most make them out to be in the Demons..Ive seen the rules stretched very far in the UK many times.

It won a gold Demon. It was an oversight. Nothing to do with copyright though. The licensing agreement with New Line Cinema means that LoTR stuff and 40k or Warhammer can\'t be shown mixed together in GW publications.

You won\'t get banned for using a non GW base, I just don\'t think you\'ve got any chance of winning if any part of your entry is obviously not GW. Simple enough.

And GW UK are finally responding to some of the criticism about that rule stretching.
