So this where I’m at. Started on metals but only base coat so far... silver mixed with brown and a sepia wash.

I was thinking warm light grays and browns for the nails? any ideas ? How is the skin looking to you guys? I will go back and touch up when the leg is flesh out and I can see how well balanced it is

The skin looks lovely to me, I like the subtle tone variations in it. As for the nails how about bone/ivory with browning towards where they meet the skin? Will tie in a bit with the gold and be a nice warm contrast to the cold skin

Just too show there are sooo many ways sicks idea actually is really nice I can picture that.you can also have more optiinsI see that beutiful mint blue green and this was a great idea to work with it. You can also use others that work with the feathers too but ide keep the nails as a spot color you haven’t used and as I said ide keep it with the blue green skin which is beuatuful and any of these would increase that colors Betty further.View attachment 65621 In addition I’m also liking that brown you mentioned a lot as well!!!
or you can even contrast with reds and oranges.saturated and on the dark side. Have many options

btw this is a fabulous work on colors here that you applied to this turkey buzzard.

Thanks guys... I did ask the girlfriend and she suggested bright red glitter nails....

i was leaning towards bone ivory kind of colour but I didn’t want to add too many colours into the model and complicate it.. model is complex enough lol.

i like the idea of your johns that breaks it down... I never though to look at it like that. All those colours look lovely together. What kind of spot colour would you use? Something within that 5 colour spectrum?

Honestly bud I like red orange like a blood orange -or that upper right dark blue for contrast to th skin and the purple fleshy bits.

I really love the colour choice for the skin tone, and works extremely well with the surrounding colours (feathers, scales). Looking really nice.

I like how you've used the red tones in the shading to make the skin look ever so slightly warmer and more "alive". I'll commit that to memory should I need to use it someday ;)

Thanks for the tips guys... I think a dark blue tones in the nails would suit. I feel red, as nice as red is and will constraint against the skin, I don’t want them to be distracting to he model and draw the eye.

The model has a big effing eye on its staff so was thinking of doing a red stormy universe thing kind of painting, like attached.. I’m a long way off that though lol

Looking good Epic, but the Krule Bear can't help but keep seeing that mold line on the back spur claw

Yeah I’ve got a trick with that.. it’s called gloss varnish and a bit of paint on top of that to hide it.. I always miss the odd one lol
