lol, Thats OK Quiarcus, feedback is always great :), its hard the paint the immersion of energy movement but I feel layers of a lighter green would sell it more so and it also reflecting on the metal parts slightly but it needs to be really subtle to sell it. I've always prefered Necrons to be weathered, it's kinda how I imagine them.

I think the shield could do with a tiny tiny bit of trans yellow in the green waves on the hull, just to create some hot spots if you like to give the impression that is it shimmering, or do you think that that is overkill@?

Thanks Oistene. Good teachers help you improve fast, as long as you take on board what ppl say :)

Anyway, I highlight the shield all the way up to white and added a the same colours in the orb, so the orb didn't look dulled down.

Here is the final result

aw shux, you nearly made me blush lol. Thanks BAM I'm honoured that I've been able to take your advise and make it my own and it has really shown in this barge. its been almost 24 hours and its still not up for voting yet :(.

I think I understand the highlight shade process after I've been studying paintings (actual paintings, not minis) and the general thing I see being used is split complement shading / highlighting to create warm or cool shades.

and if you highlight is cool then your shade needs to be warm and hot highlights have cool shadows

What I do and your correct it's all about a balance each model weather an ogre kingdoms yeti or a juggernaut of krone I'll balance some out shade cool complimentary highlight warm analogous so in a nut she'll if I'm painting up a juggernaut of krone I'll shade green mixed with a Lil blue (cool complimentery) then to highlight warm analogous so red oranges red yellows etc.. (hence warm colors that lie next to one another on thecwheel).is there other ways of course there are no set things in stone just guidelines and a whole lot of hey does this color look good ,would this color be better etc.

yep, its such a complicated subject to master with tons of trail and error but at least I'm starting to understand the concept of colour.

Currently have started doing another Ork, I've only based the coated the skin so far and well upload some WIPS once I've got the first washes on the skin. I've used a more yellow-green base as I wanted the skin to have a brighter, warmer feel to the end result. Where as my prevous Ork I used a blue-green, which made it look cold blooded, but the skin shades are going to be cool red through to purple. I'm hoping that it will contrast really nicely :)

I paint my thumb.
Like that necron flying croissant, nice colors and you have developped steady brush skill, nice progress.
