Yeah Epic, the sponge! I use the sponge for over 25 years, it's a great tool man put that in your inventory asap.

With a sponge I can do a nice tabletop dragon in one day! But that's not the painting I like doing :)

sponges are awesome. I used a sponge of the metal of the Necron Barge I did recently. Good call on using it for blood effects though (Y)

I use it for many effects, use it for stone effect on flat surfaces as well, works wonders :)

For details cut a small piece and glue it to an old brush, cut the ferule make a flat end with hobby knife and glue your foam there

Here's something to consider a diff on the greens of orks vs the greens of nurgle for orks I've used in my examples reds and reddish browns for the shading on my "squad pustulous" I've used brownish /purples to get that unhealthy cool tones and then I further kept the coolness by highlighting with my greens mixed with space wolves grey as opposed to keeping it warm highlights by adding ushabit bone Iow I kept the shades and highlights constinstantly coil because of being an unhealthy skin cold and dead, cold and diseased....but this is just an option and how I would attack that wonderful base color of that nurgle dread you achieved.any questions feel free but look at my "squad pustulous"they've been asked to be put in visions so I'm sure you'll like them and the standards they've been painted too.it will give you an idea to have a diff green for the dreadnought as opposed to our orks..

shading and highlighting and when they were all done I used yellow glaze with a small amount of green so it was predominantly yellow glazed on.

Voted 10 to lift you up, but honestly I don't really care about the votes system here it's all full of flaws. I find per example at P&P is more serious.

I agree P&P is more high end dignified voters who vote very honest and still have a wonderful amount of respect for each artist -yeah it's like an online computer your voting against the highest quality of others work but still it's limited to 4votes a prop,a gold, silver, bronze it's not a 1-10 where you can snipe everything and get away with it. Cannot wait till ter starts posting in there he's gonna do well and epic a few more months and well try to get you up and running first gotta get canny on. But yeah cmons voting is heavily flawed and not a thing anyone can do about it. So just rely on the fact that your last 3models have been your highest marks yet so that is enough idea of improvement to me!!! Gr8 job epic!!!

Cheers Ter, thats an awesome help, tbh I'm really happy with the last models I've been posting. I find that people tend to vote knock ppl not for the paintjob but because its not something they would paint and being the person voting is always the better painter and they always know best and everyone should paint their mini's they them As long as my rating are going up thats all that matters not what score they actually get :)

When eventually I get onto P&P I will of improved significantly and my paintwork will be worthy of putting against some of the better paint jobs out there but that would not be possible without the golden help from you guys.

Don't think too much about the votes. If anything, I think they are too HIGH - that would make more room for nuances of great painting. However, everyone votes differently, and looks at different things, and with the myriad of users and the possibility of unregistered votes, you can see a lot of strange things on CMoN. I don't worry about it, it is what it is.

Update on a deathguard dread I'm working on (This is for my own personal army which just gets put aside for other painting projects all the time.. its still quiet a bit off. the metal needs its final touches, the armor panels need finishing, infact everything needs finishing.

but here is a early WIP of it. I figured I'd make a start while some green stuff in curing on my orks
