aw, tell her to get some 'fresh air' out of the house so u can paint :)

the metals are going well, still got some hours left on them, the weathered beaten up appearence is what I'm going for, little different for elves but it suits my painting style more :)

Can't wait to see! The Necron is a little bit tricky with all those pieces. I am hopefully be able to paint a bit in the morning.

Oh and let me rephrase, she's got a huge Migraine and in bed knocked out :)

And here I thought that 'headache' meant there was something else you couldn't do, and that you HAD to paint.

I like the look of the elves. I'm really not fond of those minis, so when you make me like them, you're doing a good job. :)

Diggs: Cheers buddy, I'm doing for a more battle worn look, realistic look rather than a clean look with them

Canny: Cheers mate, I haven’t used the VMA aluminium as I’ve run out, so I’ve used silver and metal medium which makes produces very bright highlights and I’ll pure medium (which is more like white metallic paint) for the final edging. I’m going to order the whole VMA metallic range month as the metal parts are small enough for my airbrush

Oistene: haha Cheers mate if my painting makes you like them I must be doing something right, the moulds aren’t that great to be honest. Lots of sticky out things with big chucks of plastic behind them, makes them look a bit blocky. I’m avoiding the pristine stereotype that elves normally have of being all clean, polished and pimped up. I want a realistic armour that’s seen a bit of battle so I'm using purples, reds and browns in the shades and blue tones in the parts in light.

...He said before he got to the wracks and other failcrap :) Loved the DE, but those finecast kits where some of the worst I had ever seen. I hope they are from a newer run because the first few batches were brutal o_O Have fun with all the details, it was such a fun army to paint!

yeah i dont think anyone is a fan of failcast, bloody hate the stuff, the guy i'm painting it for is a regular and just wants to table top as fast as possible lol, so no going the extra mile on these dudes which is a shame

Great job bud...yeah fail cast sucks ...well there not producing anything else in fail cast everything will be plastic which they are very good at pieces always fit flawlessly ...but hey what can you do you have it paint it and hope for the best..once the paint is on it should be no difference.the 1 good thing about fail cast is when fully painted you drop it it won't break.

You guys are nuts, painting so many minis... LOL GW resin = waste, actually many resin = waste. fixing 200 bubbles and many many other things is not my hobby. Thin can is been preped today again, I always find something to do, I pinned the orb arm and I am going to work a bit then when wife is better I will start painting at last... It's going to be all new something I try for the first time I am looking forward to it.

oh balls to it I'm gonna show the love, here is my comp piece I'm currently working on for local competition, as u can see I've still got a way to go on both the mount and rider, but wet blending each scale is rather time consuming.

Loaded brush tech would be perfect for that super fast to get the effect, or 2bb. Looking great though love the colours, the reds and green-blues are killa :)

cheers guys :) I've turned turned the spear into a banner and going to some freehand aztec type artwork on it, its gonna look sick after I'm done with it.

I came home from work today and found a box on 10 csm marines to paint from my lovely wife, god I've got so much to paint

This is the banner design I've come up with for my lizardman comp piece, there is a few things I need to tweak but it wont be much different

heh cheers man, its gonna be a banging banner I can see it in my head already.

I'm 2.5 hours in on this dark eldar commision yay, I dont relaly post Dark Eldar Wips but just wanted to show you lot my airbrush work which I tend to use for table top commission stuff as its fast for batch painting.

so the models are basecoated in
2 parts Scarlett Red 1 part black
then I've started highlighting the armor is
Scarlett red
1 part Scarlett red 1 part bloody red.

finally I've added a violot wash to knock the red back slightly and emphasise the overlapping armor panels

to get to this point (the head are done as well)

its taking me 2.5 hours to get to this step and I reckon another 3.5 hours and the unit will be complete as I need to kit bash some custom weapons
