Completely with you on the speed point. when I did my EFGT diorama, there was no way I could paint them as well as I would have liked, so I had to condense, lower the quality and up the speed. I was knocking out reasonable figures quickly for me, about 3-4 hours per dwarf bearing in mind there is more detail to them. The goblins I got to the point were I could do 5 in a similar time. All without an AB.
my AB needs practise as at present I'm only using it for priming.
I've toyed with starting commissions but have held off for now as I don't think I would have the time, it's something I keep considering though.

try a small commission to test the water with, you'll either love it or hate it :). I'm stuck at work with nothing to do, might even bring some minis in tomorrow to paint up

Cheers guys, tis the std I'm aiming for with these guys.
I've got 30 more troops to do, two earthshaker cannons, 3 thudd cannons and a command unit :)

The dudes on the resin bases already had a fairly thick paint job on which had been primed over with chaos black, so some of the details have been covered over which is a shame

so I've done a little more on the banner whilst I'm waiting for the commion paint to dry and cure :)

I've kept the checks etc a little rough to make it look as if an Ork has painted them, not entirely sure I've pulled the effect off though. I might even ditch the ribons on the sides, not sure if I actually like them

Looks ace bro, if you keep the ribbons put some blood to match the center. And maybe put a human skull at the base of the banner's pole.
