An hours drive from my house...
Okay If I drive under the speed limit an hour and a quarter .. hour and a half. lol
I travel to Liverpool daily so I can easily sort out any travel arrangements needed for the Ferry.

hopefully this summer.
My oldest is going to Germany next week to finally be with her husband - and of course she\'s taking our grandbaby. :(
My youngest graduates this May.

I can kill 2 birds with one stone. Let my wife visit the grandbaby, let my youngest see Europe as a graduation pressent all in one fell swoop.

My wife has started looking at tickets and there is an Irish airline that has a layover in Dublin on the way to Germany & back.

****

That has got to be some sort of record. Derailed my own thread in 2 posts.

lol

Ok kevin did a quick cost check for you. £126 for 3 return Adlut tickets travelling from Liverpool Birkenhead. Which is where I work.

Aer Lingus (the best rate we\'ve found so far) has a 23 hour layover in Dublin on our way to Germany. Probably the same on the way back. At this point, nothing is written in stone.

But I was wondering if that was enough time to get to the Dublin / Liverpool ferry and pay some visits and get back?

My folks found that if you layover in Iceland, in this case Minneapolis to Iceland to the smaller airport in England forget which one, the cost of each ticket was close to 2/3s-half the price. Just a thought.
