Evil Clown

I've recently been participating in the February Sculptalong over at http://minisculpture.co.uk.

The theme is carnival freaks and I have decided upon an evil clown.

I also hope to return to some of my unfinished pieces very soon. Working with Procreate has given me the confidence to continue with some of the minis where I'd hit a brick wall.

Day 5:

Would love to know which weapon people prefer so far? I'm currently leaning towards the baseball bat. Not only does it look better but I guess sport-wise (not that I'm remotely into sports I might add...) it's more 'universal' than a cricket bat.

Unless the pie is a possibility, I think the Baseball bat suits him better, the cricket bat looks a little bulky and the hard angles don't really fit with the clowns more rounded forms.

I agree with Stewsayer about the shape of the cricket bat but they are much more fun to paint than a baseball bat as you can see on megazord man's brilliant work attached.

Surely a clown would use a balloon animal as a weapon along with his exploding pie?

Either a menacing balloon giraffe or balloon axe.

Some great ideas flowing here! I would love to sculpt this guy holding a custard pie - I can just picture it! Having said that, I think that the baseball bat works better as it breaks up the symmetry created by the pom-poms on his clown suit.

I fully intend to sculpt a pie, to try it out visually, and if it doesn't end up gracing this clown there will certainly be another along the line with it's name on it!

I could picture him having the pie in one hand and a big fuse leaning over to the other holding a match/cigarette lighter etc. Maybe even one of them big round black acme bombs sat in the custard lol

Stick grenade would look pretty mean! You could do him holding two in one hand and one in the other as if he's about to start juggling.
