I bought a few figs at a local con the other week. Pretty nice looking models. Apparently they're having a painting contest for Adepticon so I started in on Lupa.

Her skin is done, and I started blocking out the other colors. Thoughts so far?

I finished up Lupa's skin and hair last night. I still see a few places in these pics that I want to go back to.

I also painted up her skirt, shirt (although those highlights are pretty much washed out), leather and brass too.

The fur, and wrappings are next, as well as the hammer.

I tried something new on the hammer, some high contrast metal. I'm not happy with it. Pointers/comments/thoughts?

Nice looking sculpt and you seem to be doing a wonderful job painting it.

With the hammer I'd try increasing the contrast on the individual sections. That bar on the middle either side could just a bit more of a gradient.

Looking good, but the split in the head of the hammer doesn't look right to me. May be the photo, but it looks too much like a mold slip.

I was thinking of rotating the gradient in the last picture 45 degrees clockwise. Any good pictures of tutorials out there for what I'm trying to do with the hammerhead?
