Hey! I resent that, we Canadian\'s do not look and/or sound like those rediculous characters from South Park.
Explosions in my neighbourhood.

It was a propane facility so I imagine it was mainly to gas up school buses and taxis. And bbq\'s. We don\'t have personal cars here in Canada, the government is Communist, remember? I share one with twenty other people and have to book it ahead of time to use it*.
Sadly, it seems two people have died as a result of this. A fireman had a heart attack, and an employee of the plant was \"last seen heading in the direction of the fire\" (presumably blown to smithereens). Many others were injured by debris and flying glass, and many homes were extensively damaged including doors and windows blown right out. Police are patrolling to prevent looting (!) in the evacuated areas. Fortunately, overall it sounds like emergency crews and city response was both excellent and timely.

I wasn\'t awake for the explosions.. but the same day, while driving back from a painting contest in Hamilton, we went through a storm and a bolt of lightning struck an electrical pole about 15m ahead of the car and it basically blew and sent a fireball down the line to a transformer. That was really exciting, it was really a moment of awe.

I\'d be chuffed as S*&T to see a transformer.. did you get his autograph????? or was he one of those damn dirty decepticons just nick a ball of power and feck off..
sounds like the end of the world will start in Canada .... At least that\'s something proper news worthy .. I\'m already sick to death with the news coverage here grasping for any possibility to claim olympic success......
Hope all is well and nobody is seriously hurt.
