Or it was the middle of the night for NA, and early morning for the UK.

As for the mini, didn't wet my pants, but I don't hate it. Wouldn't be on my shopping list tho. Big fangy and pointy beasts aren't my thing.

Dude, that's nothing - every now and again you'll get a thread with around a hundred views and no responses. At a guess I'd say the average is in the twenties.

So anyway on the Carnivean, it might float my boat more with a different paintjob but as it stands, a meh for me too.

Well there you go, aint opinions amazing things?

It's often like that for me, i like an aspect of a popular thing that no-one else does.
Like the Destroids in Macross, love 'em, but the Stupid transforming VF-XX's..Nope, hate them all.
But guess what's more popular, like, by about a factor of 1,000!

Well, If this is the general consensus, I'll have no problems picking one up a few months after release for a discount, as they'll be sitting on shelves unsold..!

Ok, all those who said "meh", or anything negative about this sculpt - you all sound like the comic shop owner from the Simpsons..

It's a great sculpt. It's aggressive, detailed, and generally bad-assed looking. It actually looks somewhat scary, and makes the regular Carny sculpt look like Barny the dinosaur.

PP should make all their sculpts to this standard. The only thing is that the extreme is a bit big..

Like everything else, the Extreme Carni probably isn't for everyone. Personally, I don't like it - it looks unbalanced to me, too heavy claws and not enough upper body to pull all that weight. And all that mottled and stringy flesh is making it far too busy for my liking. The paint job, while in the official Everblight colours, probably aren't doing the sculpt any favours, either.

Reminds me quite a lot of the Extreme Warpwolf - I really wanted to like that sculpt, but the weird, stretched-out pose ruined it for me.

But I will admit that I love the new weird faction for Cyriss - especially the Aurora Warcaster, her Clockwork Angels, and the Prime Axiom. Never mind that the official pic of the Prime Axiom looks like he is standing on a tall pile of poop - very much like Rackham's old Nefarious Clone.

I look at it and I see the result of a GW Rat Ogre and a Tyranid Hive Tyrant having unprotected intimate relations.

Things like this make me wonder why we even adhere to a scale in the first place. We learned with epic 40k you can field vast armies with huge giant thingies... and then no one plays the game. My problem is the very fact they're packing so much detail into such a huge thing- at some point in time you have to decided between airbrushing or using a brush, and it looks like you'd have alot of work ahead of you, either way.

well... no.

it's a terrible sculpt. Oversized 'hands' and spikes on an otherwise too small body + legs. The whole ripping-out-of-skin isn't executed too good and those skins on the spike are simply too thick, as the sculptor couldn't make a thin layer of putty.

It also looks like a nightmare to paint (or at least not as much a fun as a chore). Last week I just painted a normal Carnivean and I must say, I never want to paint an everblight model again especially not a larger more cluttered same-thing.

PP already has this style for standard, so your wish came true :D

but PP don't be suprised if only WM/H players will buy the bad looking ones and noone else. ;)

Really? Nobody plays Epic anymore? From what I've been reading on Dakka Dakka and Heresy Online, it would appear that the specialist games (Necromunda, Epic, etc.) seem to have a really special place in people's hearts, leading to a die-hard core group of gamers.

Mind, I actually like some of the Epic models, particularly the Tyranid bio-titans, and the Imperial Imperator Titan.

But I'm not a gamer at heart, so I'm definitely the wrong authority to comment on gaming in any sense of the word.

This likewise leaves me cold. Too much going on. Too many strange proportions for my tastes. But that being said, much of what privateer press does has the same effect on me.

I have to go one step further then "meh" and say imho it looks silly. The over sized hands and the pose remind me of Garfield tap dancing on the fence.
