Yeah, I saw those comments left by Fuzzicato the other day on Fredy\'s mini. I felt like leaving a message which expressed what I think of Mr. Fuzzicato but thought to myself what\'s the point. I guess that\'s it, why bother leaving a comment if you\'re just going to be an ar$eho1e?

I know some times there can be a language translation issue for non english speakers so a comment ment to be constructive can come out harsh.. but isn some cases they are just ment to be hurtful.. But yeah, face it some people are just jerks..

Without \"witch hunting\" (there\'s enough Witch Hunters on this site already, lol) I\'d have to say it IS nice of the bitter jerks to sometimes leave comments, and not just votes... that way we know WHOSE minis to not bother leaving our own nice words on.

The simple way to remove extra low or extra high scores is to calculate the standard deviation for a given average and then remove everything that exeeds curent average plus 2 standard deviations. That will take care of all \"intentional\" outliers

Will not solve the problem of rude coments though but this is entirealy different problem

That all sounds very impressive, however, I have absolutely no idea what you\'re talking about. I guess I should have paid a little more attention in Math class as a kid. :wow:

I think I’ve heard it mentioned that our scoring system takes out the outliers once a mini gains a specific number of votes already.
If its true its a good system as not only will scores of 2 not affect a mini that is truly well beyond table top quality, but neither will scores of 10 be taken into account when given as a vote for a mini well below table top quality.

IMHO, that idea won\'t work as is since some people filter to only see 8+ minis so their average votes would be in the 8+ region whereas somebody who doesn\'t filter would be a lot lower.

There is a system like this already in place, but Chern Ann has never revealed the algorithm for obvious reasons

Negative Sniper comments serve no purpose, normally whoever\'s left the comment and the dud score just makes an arse out of themselves.

Personally I\'d prefer to get critique than \'wow that\'s fantatic\' and nothing more (specially when I know it\'s not fanatastic.)

The scoring in general seems to work o.k., there\'s some peices that are under scored, but in general I\'d say there\'s more peices that are over scored. I always think that a look at the top 10 puts it into perspective, if we don’t have some kind of perspective then the scores will loose their significance, and people will stop bothering to vote.

I agree with what’s already been said, the Discuss submissions and Wip threads are a far better indication of how we can improve.
