He\'s coming along really nicely. Keep it up :)

For getting everything in focus, I like to zoom out just a little bit. But I have an 8 megapixel camera so even small cropped areas are huge.

If your camera\'s image is small and you have to take pictures up close to get detail, just work a bit on the angle you are taking the picture at, and what part of the model the camera is focusing on.

Thanks, I\'ll try that tomorrow night :). I\'m going to try to finish his face, tools and other small details on the main body.

On the homestretch!

Fabius is nearly complete now. I just need to work on his backpack. I haven’t had too much time to paint due to my job and family outings taking place before I go back to classes.

I think he looks pretty good now. On Monday or Tuesday I’ll have finished the backpack up and I will start working on the base. Not sure what I’ll have for the base, but I’m kicking some ideas around.

Comments and constructive criticism is appreciated!

He is coming along very nicely. I think that the face could use another highlight or two, just on the high points (nose, cheeks, brow, chin, etc).

Well I\'m a few clicks to calling the backpack complete. It\'s taking me longer than I thought it would since I\'ve been called into work so much lately. I\'ve learned that it\'s always better to add one or two more highlights even after you think you\'re done since a personal perception is always a little biased.

Next is the base. I\'ve got a small piece of polystyrene I\'ll be using, but I\'m a little bit hesitant about going to town on it. Should I treat it with anything at first or just paint and go for it?

I\'ll post pics once I can get my mits on my camera since I\'m out of town!

looks good - seems my worries about the green and browm was in vain. As MB said the face could use a further highlight to stand more out, wich will also make it the natural focalpoint of the mini.

I got the highlighting done for the face. The backpack should be ready to go tomorrow night and placed upon him. Then it\'s time for the base. I hope to have this guy done by Wednesday.

C&C are greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Jake

Cool stuff so far. You did a very good job with the face. :)

Might want to try painting the stitching on his torso a different color. I like Bleached Bone for something like that (Or if your using P3 go with Menoth White Base). Makes it look like thread or
something :)

Keep it up!

If you want a slightly darker colour, kommando khaki would do those threads - although you\'d probably still need to undercoat as I find it\'s one of GW\'s worst for covering.

Thanks for the suggestions, Matt and Dan. :) I\'ll give it a try tomorrow and post them. So close to being done! Can\'t do anything tonight though, I\'m pretty beat from my bike ride (25 miles!).

Cheers,
Jake

I like it a lot too. It\'s called Necrotite Green by P3. I just applied three thin layers and used the green GW wash over it and then highlighted a little with the original color.
