There\'s a good article here:

Faces are so important - in my opinion it makes or breaks most figures. [obviuosly, not Space Marines! :)] I think you\'re most likely to get penalized if the face is screwed up - but, specifically, the real trick is the eyes - get that right and you will be in a very good position.

Look for those articles on doing eyes as well.

When i started painting many many moons ago this is how i did it
1. put down your base coat
2. wash with gw flesh wash(thin it a bit and use a few coats till you get the color you like)
3. dry brush flesh with your base coat
4. add some white to your base and pick out the highlights you can keep adding small amounts of white till you get the tones you like
5. just an idea you can paint the lower lip red(thin it down a few coats till it looks good)this is something the gw painters did in the old days i use it from time to time
6. the eyes i find that with the wash it adds the shadow i need i just paint the white of the eye and dot it black very very fine brush for this

some other tips would be
*use thin paint
*use a good brush
*and do not rush it with time you get better

I hope this helped

I always try and find what expression the mini has or what I think works. Then I paint the eyes first. Example: one of the new Goblin Pirates for Rackham is a cook with a squid on his head. A good idea of mine was to make his eyes look rolled back so that he\'s looking at the squid, frustrated it got away from him.

Eyes are also important because it\'s the first thing people look at. Your skin could be blended beautifully, but with staring eyes others will say it\'s not realistic.

Speaking of blending, I always water down the paint I use for blending and mix it fresh if I can. I don\'t necessarily wet blend, I just layer paint on top of another.

Teeth are also important if they are shown on the mini. I never try to use pure white except in the eyes on a face. Almost no knight/wizard/marine/whatever will have teeth that white from a distance, so I use an off white. It\'s just a bit duller, but it makes a huge difference!

Hope this helps give some color to your pallid minis! :p
