\"Fairy\" Elf or Dark Elf?

Hey guys,
I\'m currently painting Werner Klockes masterpeice Alastriel.
I can\'t seem to decide what color scheme to go on this one.
I\'m trying to chose between a dark elf and a \"regular\" elf.
She Really doesn\'t look that evil so a dark elf might not fit but it might be fun just to be unique. I\'ve never seen her painted anyway other than the classic fairy type elf.
So what do you guys think, dark or light elf?

Once you go black, you will never go back. I say make her a filthy dark elf. Mmm... man i love me a dark elf. besides, who said all dark elves had to look evil. fear the sulty \"good\" looking dark elf.

I say \"dark Light elf\" :D Seriously, make her a \"good\" elf but with a definite hint of darkness and mayhem.

For the skin I used Foundry\'s 3 flesh tones, and tried to blend them into each other. Hope that helps. Is the skin really that bad?

How about using the liche purple and the dark colours, used on traditional dark elf, then highlighting up to make her look cute.:D

I hate how everyone uses really un-reallistic colors for drow flesh. If I painted her dark, I would paint her in a slightly warmer looking flesh tone to look ... well more like flesh.

@krom, i like them mate.
they look realy natural and soft.

and i agree with angus, dark elves do look better with a warm looking skin.
give them the hint of evil/nasty with carefull glazes around the cheek bones and eyes.

It\'s Zhai! From that game I had! That\'s name I can\'t remember! She was by far the cooler of the characters... Demon Stone! Thats what it was... Brings back memories... All that crashing... so much crashing...

*edit* Oh and to stay vaguely on topic. Go dark elf/drow. Although Zhai was only half drow... Go for it I says.

Hey Jake,

Have you seen Derek Schubert\'s version of this one? It is very dark and green, kind of an evil druid looking thing. I think the pics are still in the SFBAMP yahoo site, check under the files section. It\'s very cool, as you might suspect, coming from Derek. ;)
